Violet Valley Bookstore — Local services in Water Valley

I was born and raised in Memphis, TN and recently moved to West Virginia. Moving from a diverse liberal city to a very old fashioned closed-minded state was a bit of a culture shock. I've been hearing about Violet Valley from friends who still live down in the bluff and have been anxious to visit! As soon as I walked up to the door I loved it. Seeing a Pride flag hanging in the window was an amazing thing to see in Mississippi. I loved that they sell used books and classics and support local authors. I highly recommend it to people all around! I hope to be able to pay another visit...

One of the best experiences I’ve ever had in an independent bookstore. The owner was extremely helpful. She gave me a tour of the place upon entering. She has a wide selection at very reasonable prices. I would recommend checking it out if you are near Water Valley. A lot of the books are used donated books. The one I picked up was in superb condition...
