Black Hawk County YMCA — Local services in Waterloo

I'd like to put something out there, I have been an off and on member of this place multiple times throughout the years.. With that said, the front desk staff, gym and pool employees are great! Unfortunately it stops there.. I have had multiple billing issue with them, and never had proper service trying to get things resolved. It gives the feel that nobody in those offices gives two shits.. I've made multiple attempts at phone calls, stopping in person, and nobody is ever available.. Considering the hefty cost per month ($70) and the total lack of response, I will take my business elsewhere and I recommend you do to, because if ever there is a problem, trust me, nobody cares there.. They lost a long time...

When we arrived at 3:25 on a Saturday the staff did not greet us but were informing members in front of us they were closing in 20 minutes. Why would you close at 4 on a saturday? Anyway, 20 minutes is better then nothing. As we were finishing up the worlds fastest workout on subpar equipment, at 3:03, the staff approached us, “Um, we closed like 3 minutes ago..” I’ve never felt more discouraged to work out by a gym staff. Poor hours, ok equipment, bad...

Super fun! So many activities to do. Various machines to use at the gym. They even have yoga mats you can use to stretch. The track field feels a but unsafe, especially when running at top speeds. The staff and super helpful and caring, and always answer with a smile on their face. Would prefer over the Sportsplex most time, whilst the Spotplex has way more to offer, sometimes it is the community...
