IowaWORKS — Local services in Waterloo

I think Donald needs to come "Drain the swamp" in Black Hawk County. He might as well turn it into a desert because this place is utterly useless anyways. For example: I had a mandatory meeting today - (which, by the way, doesn't count towards your weekly reemployment activity) and the meeting was also utterly useless. In addition the building was under construction, had no internet, and no one could even put a sign on the door saying where the meeting was being held. The meeting was in no way disability friendly. We were then told that we had to relocate to another building on the other side of town (which isn't easy for people with disabilities to do). No address or telephone number given. Then, when I get to the new location, there is no sign on the door saying this is where IowaWorks is. The pathetic attempt to "help" me by the team at IowaWorks was obvious and I was told it is my fault no one contacted me to learn how to do the unemployment process correctly, so I won't be getting any. Would be nice if some of our tax dollars went into actually going back to some of the people who require that money they rightfully over paid into.

This facility is understaffed and was a circus on the inside today. Randomally a woman yells in the lobby “I’m going outside, if anyone needs help I’ll be back in a bit.”

If you’re ever considering unemployment Just get another job. This system is broken and not worth the effort for a measley few dollars a month.

This facilities only purgative is to find any way possible to delay your benefits in hopes you’ll just give in and not utilize it.

I’m 30 days in and not a penny paid out. The hoops this state makes you jump through with 0 clarification are counter intuitive to actually spending time job hunting in the way that is beneficial to getting off...

While all in person tasks handled at the work center went very smoothly the id.me process seem to be somewhat complicated and now I'm sitting here at home waiting for a phone call for a mandatory meeting at 2:30 it is now 3:15 and I'm still waiting for this phone call I have better things to do than to wait around for a phone call . if I do not attend this phone call meeting it says I will be ineligible for unemployment it's kind of hard to attend something when you are not contacted as demanded.. I wasn't fired I was guaranteed a career and I was laid off. Just satisfied...
