We went to Moss Landing, to buy our tickets for the Elkhorn Slough Guided Boat Tour. I wanted to take pictures of the cute & furry little sea otters. Turned out we missed the last tour of the day. Plan B was to drive to the Nature Reserve on Elkhorn Slough. The Ranger told us we had less than 30 min. to check it out, because they were closing soon.
My wife and I swiftly made our way down the paved path to a muddy part of the slough where water had retreated during low tide. Small to medium-sized crabs were having a parade in the mud. We made our way across a wooden boardwalk, where we looked out on part of Elkhorn Slough. Overcast conditions, and not a sea otter in sight as time ran out, meant we didn't have the ideal visit, but we still got a peek at water that is supposed to hold large numbers of sea otters.
