Ace Hardware on Eastlake Ave. Here is a place that gives you plenty of help as soon as you walk in the door, or... If you just want to look around, they simply say, "Okay, well if you have any questions on anything, just let any of us know..." On this day however I took my daughter in just to have a key made, she was having a hard time finding the right type of key that would match up, but the staff was so patient and even went and found and pulled all the options that would work so she wouldn't be disappointed. And there was ALOT of options the kid pulled out. Also, you KNOW the place is fun to work at as well because while we were there a female showed up to work, already smiling...and as we found out minutes later, it was her Birthday. She showed up on her birthday to work, on a Saturday! And the Crew didn't disappoint as they sang Happy Birthday to her. So again, Ace Hardware on East Lake Ave in Watsonville. One of 3 locations in our smallish town with a second being downtown on Main Street and the 3rd located on Freedom Blvd. Next door to Walgreens. Definitely 5 Star service at...

Helpful people, though they aren't as knowledgeable as 'the old guy at the hardware store' (boy do I miss the old pre-Sears OSH!). Like most retail these days, finding what you want is largely a matter of knowing what you want before you go in. They get 4 stars because they're open weekends, have a reasonable selection of mostly residential items, they're not far from my house, and lack of knowledge notwithstanding they really do try...

Always there when I need them, the team over at Ace Hardware know how to talk to customers and provide assistance without pressure or unwelcome salesmanship.
