First off, I think this store has a great selection. I love that they have bulk and they have the best wine selection in the area.

However, they have absolutely no idea how to provide appropriate customer service. I got a bottle of funky Spanish red wine and the bottle turned out to be corked. When I came back the next weekend the employees acted like I had two heads for asking for a replacement. They told me I HAD to come back during the week when the wine manager was there. After I was insistent that wouldn’t work I eventually got them to call the GM. The GM said I had to have a receipt… this is for a $25 bottle that is uncommon and is very likely only sold by them, and this particular bottle had their own sticker that the store had put on it. The kicker is, distributors replace corked bottles or give the store credit. Even if I had somehow found it somewhere else… the distributor would still give them credit for it! Most places know that it is better to make a customer happy(at no cost to them) than to be a stick in the mud. In the 8 years I worked in the wine business, in retail and restaurants in multiple states, the places I have worked or shopped have never refused to replace a bottle or required a receipt. Have no idea what the name means but this is an awesome store. It was a pleasant surprise to find such a beautiful, well lit and well stocked grocery store in Watsonville of all places. They literally have a bit of everything and they even have products I’ve never seen before. Was super impressed by their refrigerated section just with vegan prepared food to go like tofu “egg” scramble, soup, pesto pasta, etc. I really enjoyed the tofu scramble. Filling and delicious.
