India Gourmet — Local services in Watsonville

I was craving Indian food one day because, sadly, there are not a lot of Indian restaurants here in Watsonville, but thank GOD that I found this wonderful gem. I was honestly a bit skeptical simply because there were little to no reviews on the website, so I just gave it a shot, and let me tell you that it was the best decision I’ve made this entire week! The food was…I can’t even describe how good it was; I'll just say that it was splendid! The samosas were perfectly seasoned, the roti was deliciously buttery and flaky, and it enhanced the flavor of the potatoes and peas. The Mint and Tamarind chutney flavors were delicious but very hard to describe, nonetheless, they were amazing!. The mango lassi was silky smooth, and the mango flavor tasted very fresh, just creamy goodness😋 I got the Garbanzo Masala Naan wrap, and it was the second-best takeout item I've ever eaten, only second to the samosas. The garbanzos were cooked perfectly, and paired so well with the thin, almost slightly aromatic rice, and once again, it was seasoned to perfection. All while being wrapped in a fresh yummy naan. I simply can't recommend this...

So stoked to have fresh, delicious, authentic Indian food here in Watsonville!! I ordered over the phone and had all my questions answered patiently and politely. I’ll order through their website next time, but calling allowed me to order our favorites AND cover our family’s allergies. 90% of our order was dairy-free, and the majority of that was also vegan. Gluten-free options are also available if that’s your thing.

For reference: Chicken vindaloo is dairy-free. Samosas, spinach saag, and chickpea masala are all vegan. Naan is vegan IF you skip the ghee (clarified butter). Veggie korma has cream and is NOT vegan or dairy-free, but was my absolute favorite item today.

Delivery was fast and I was glad I wasn’t dealing with a delivery service that takes a huge cut from small businesses (like Dash that takes 20%). The delivery person was sweet and we had a great convo about how they are the folks everyone enjoys at our local farmers markets and they want us to be able to enjoy their food at home, too.

But can’t recommend enough. We will be ordering...

Do yourself a massive favor and get the Chicken Tikka Masala Wrap. It’s basically heaven wrapped in naan. The chicken is tender, the sauce is creamy perfection, and it’s hearty enough to keep you full for hours. It’s easily my favorite thing they make. Oh and don't forget the Samosas', they are SO good!

It's a wonderful, local, family-run business, and you can feel that warmth every time you go. The people are genuinely nice, always smiling, and happy to chat about the food. Knowing you're supporting a great local family and eating such high-quality food is the ultimate win-win. And did I mention free delivery right to your doorstep? I will definitely be eating there again soon.
