I just stopped at a local mom n pop ice cream shop for a bite to eat and a twist ice cream cone. Not sure if this little cozy place is affiliated with some plaza and it's other merchants in this area as I'm from out of town and had just left the Sanford hospital at lunch time and was on 12th street and noticed this little ice cream shop out in front of a McDonald's restaurant of all places with Burger King directly across the street. Talk about competition here in this area to eat, my lord lots of choices. I ALWAYS favor the locally owned little guy who's running his own little shop trying to sell comfort food to us hungry folks. The BIG national chains are so overrated and bland anymore. I'll spend my money at one of these little locally owned guys trying to keep the family business running. I'm sure he was probably there before ol McDonald's and Burger King came along. Now if this ice cream shop isn't included in your plaza I'm rating, then my apologies. I'm not a local and didn't really see any sign stating a Marion Plaza. I only seen a cute little hot dog ice cream stand that my wife and I decided to stop and eat at before heading back to Sioux City. Money well spent. Will stop again or a lot since there will be some more visits to Sanford Hospital in the coming weeks. Who don't like a nice ice cream cone, or a footlong, hamburger, fries, etc. To you vegans out there, no idea if this little ice cream shop caters to your menu nor do I really care. Just being honest. I'm 55 and grew up eating beef, pork, chicken, and whatever else mom put on my plate, albeit onions ,one of your must have staples I'm sure. Vegans, don't get me started. Social hypocrit cults. Can't tell me if your my age and don't like meat or never have. It's all a joke. Remember, those healthy folks you see eating skimpy rabbit food as a meal or some yard grass and vegetables out of a blender keel over at any given time too. I prefer a little ice cream, powder, and a squirt or two of chocolate, or caramel, or strawberry out of a blender. Just like mom used to make in the 70's when the ol blender showed up on the end of the countertop at home. Memories... times were good in those days...
