I'm not a huge fan of Giant Eagle's high prices, BUT this is by far the best Giant Eagle in the area. It's a little smaller than the other stores, so the selection is slightly less than what you would find at a big location like Howland. But even so, they still generally have everything I need, and it's a lot more relaxing to shop here. The only thing I can't find here is Hemp milk (which is a super specialty item, and I usually just get macadamia milk instead), and the produce selection could be a bit better. What makes up for all of that, though, is the fact that they actually have real cashiers at all of their checkouts (no self-scan), there's people bagging your groceries, and there are always multiple registers open. That means you can get in and out of the store quick, and without frustration. That's worth more than anything! Also, I'd give five stars to the pharmacy - super fast,...
Read moreThis Giant Eagle store is outrageously expensive, if you have to stop their plan on paying double for anything you buy. It is also set up very inefficiently , it has a liquor store, but if you buy liquor you have to walk through the entire store with it , to go out a completely different door than the one you came in. So everyone in the world knows you bought liquor oh, would you may not necessarily want. And with the two door system, no matter where you park you're walking a long distance to or from your car. With a bad back I found that very inconvenient, and inconsiderate that they would insist on that. They actually have a security guard to make sure you don't try to go back out the door you came in. I don't think they really care at all about their customers, everything about the store just...
Read moreI have lived in Niles for 41 years, and Giant Eagle has always been the best grocery store in the city. Yes, they are priced higher than Marc's or Walmart, but they have the best meat in the city, hands-down. They also have the best deli and bakery in the city. The Italian bread warm out of the oven is something everybody should experience at least once in their life. Their fresh donuts and cakes are amazing, the butcher will cut any meat any thickness you ask for, and will answer any questions you have, all without being condescending or rude. When money is a little tight, I admit I will go to Walmart or Marc's for everything besides meats, deli, and bakery. There is simply no exception for those things because once you've had Giant Eagle's meat, deli, and bakery, you won't want to go...
