The food was good, which is most important, but the disappointment was that a section of their menu isn't offered at the Niles location. Since there is no online ordering, you have to look at their full menu online, which means your family has to spend time viewing it and picking what each person wants. After writing down what everyone wants, you have to call. When you call, you are told they don't offer the sandwiches on the menu and don't have all the sauces they offer on the menu.
For me, it plants a seed of disappointment even though the food is good. It's like going to a restaurant and being told they don't have want you want to order from the menu which forces you to choose something you didn't really want. It causes you to wonder if the restaurant is viable or prideful or do they just disregard the patrons.
If I wanted to be successful, I'd remove anything that Rican doesn't offer off the online menu to prevent a bad taste to customers in the community. Furthermore, if you go into the Niles location, they have a sandwich menu on the counter to order from. However, you are told they don't make sandwiches.
Makes me wonder what else isn't available that's on the menu. Hopefully, they take this into consideration. I want to see...
Read moreI have really been looking for something different to come to Niles. We've got plenty of Italian, Chinese, Burgers, chicken, and a few Indian, and Japanese places.
RR is just what this area needed!
I've been here a few times now, and I love it. When I confessed to the staff that I'm not fond of spicy food, they insisted that Puerto Rican, while flavorful, is not spicy unless you ask for a spicy sauce. They were absolutely right on that description.
So far, I've had Monfongo (w/ shrimp), ground beef & cheese Pastalillo, loaded Relleno, and Maduros. Everything was delicious, but special shout-out to the Pastelillo, which was EXCELLENT. It's flaky fried dough, stuffed with your choice of protein. In my humble opintion, this is the best item on a menu filled with great food.
Also...just added to the menu are Tres Leches cake, and Chocolate Tres Leches cake. The chocolate was great. I love that it was sweet, but not too sweet.
I'll be ordering...
Read moreI've eaten here a few times since they've opened and the food is sinfully delicious! It's my first time having peurtorican food but I want more!! The menu definitely needs some expansion and variety. It's all protein, carbs, and potatoes. Maybe they can consider adding peurtorican veggies to balance things out. I definitely recommend the pastelillo dipped in the mofo sauce! That's my go-to and I think I might have some more tonight. Lastly, I gave the atmosphere a 4 because it seems clean but I get too overwhelmed by the loud music and heavy feeling of grease in the air when I go in to pick it up. It's also a small place so there's not a lot of dine-in space but it's definitely an upgrade from having just their truck!
Ps. I'd like to try some peurtorican breakfast! That might be a money making idea...
