Dearborn Wholesale Grocers LP 2226077 — Local services in West Chicago Township

I have other grocery stores that I visit near me, such as Aldi, Market Fresh Foods, and Pete's Fresh Market, but I was instantly drawn to Dearborn Wholesale Grocers after seeing its coupons listed in 'The Garfield Lawndale Voice'. Coupons with items such as 1 Dozen Eggs priced at 39 cents each; a 24 pack of 'Best Choice Water at $1 per case, Aunt Millie's White Bread at 49 cents, and so on.......

Dearborn Wholesale Grocers is really not too far from my apartment, it sits just short of 2 miles, so I figured why not! Plus as an East Garfield Park resident, visiting Dearborn Wholesale Grocers gets me on the other side, which is the West Garfield Park side which I rarely visit, yet have several Yelp bookmarks of businesses in West Garfield Park.

I dropped in one afternoon to pick up dinner, as well as check Dearborn Wholesale out. I was totally observant while visiting, examining their prices. Dearborn Wholesale benefits that buyer that wants to purchase food items by the bulk. And most of the prices reflect the item being purchased by the bundle. For instance! Buying 3 or more of the item gets you that item cheaper versus purchasing it individually. Get my gist? Since I was just purchasing little, I really had to look at the prices thoroughly so that it was not a surprise once I got to the register.

In the end I was slightly disappointed with how 'The Garfield Lawndale Voice' listed the coupons for Dearborn Wholesale Grocers, because if you are someone like me just shopping for groceries the coupons can easily be misleading. But with what I have shared I hope my review helps anyone interested in visiting Dearborn...

I had to come in 3 separate times to get an advertised product. I called 1st, was told it was in and then disappointed once I drove to the store to buy it. On the 3rd trip, an employee got angry because I didn't want him leaning on my cart as I waited to be checked out, telling me "I work here!" I explained to him that was the very reason he shouldn't be leaning all on my cart! Turns out, he was the baggage guy. When it was my turn to be checked out he didn't want to help with my bags claiming I didn't want him touching my cart! I expect to be treated better. I know I wouldn't have that issue at Costco...

Back in the 70’s my uncle opened a grocery store and Dearborn was our main distributor. I remember when it wasn’t opened to the public they I think had 2 locations. Yes they’ve changed hands but if you looking for some products from back in the days like bc, stand back, Afro sheen, for some reason they still have it. But you have to pay attention to dates, cause I purchased a case of fresh wings last summer and they were fresh and beautiful then they ran a sale back in march and they were frozen but the date was so far back, I caught it before paying, they had been frozen...
