Whale Fish & Chicken — Restaurant in West Chicago Township

My god the lack of service at this place is atrocious.

Went there for my food and the woman was just angry at everyone. Customers were yelled at, told they had to wait a while, and heard more yelling than Hell's Kitchen - but at the customers, not the 1 person we could see prepping and cooking all the food behind her.

She yelled at some delivery drivers who asked for their customer orders. They asked for the food to verify it. She yelled at the delivery people telling them to mark the order as picked up - not allowing them to take the order or put it in a hot bag to keep it warm until the driver tapped they were on their way.

I get it that dishonest people do exist in this world, that some bad guys may try to steal an online order, but damn. Arguing and yelling almost nonstop is no ay to run a business.

My food was cold, undercooked, and had no flavor. Never going back to this...

I've been having my co-worker to buy us food there for the past two weeks! The food was fresh, hot, and good! The only dilemma I had was I told my co-worker to have my Italian beef LIGHTLY DIPPED! She came back with cheese on it twice and the bread too wet! Yesterday, when I sent her, the sandwich was soaked but not so bad! I just want them to INFER what it means to LIGHTLY DIP a sandwich! That means, Don't soak the ENTIRE BREAD! So, don't ask to get it lightly dipped because they will drown your sandwich! DON'T GET IT DIPPED AT ALL! The sweat and juice from the sandwich will soften it! Their meat isn't overly cooked and crumbly! My co-worker had some beautiful fish yesterday! It was gorgeous! Very nicely fried! I pass by Whales daily and have always wondered about the food!...

Always give me old chicken despite stressing that I want fresh chicken when I place my order over phone! Chicken looks like it be so old from redipping it be shriveled all up and dry! Most days they tell you that they do not accept card and only cash however many days they will tell you this over phone then you get there and can pay with card like they forget what they're telling you! It's always a pain bc the restaurant always has stragglers hanging out up there, lot of heavy tragic unassociated to food orders and can get very uncomfortable. I will bypass them now and go to pine and division or Central Park and...
