Gus Uncle Remus — Restaurant in West Chicago Township

I've been here a few times...the first 3-4 times were good. This 5 and 6th times were HORRIBLE. When i got off work Tues. Night i stopped by after work and bought a g-pan it had burnt and dried out chicken and basically no fries. I just put it off as if they were about to close but if so,don't. just serve your customers ANYTHING!!!! Went there tonight to try and give them another chance because anybody can have an off night. When i git there i inforned the guy of the other night and to please not give me burnt and dried out or re heated chicken again....he said no problem. I waited almost an hour for my order, after i asked the guy where was my order I've been waiting this long,and he had waited on like 12 people while I'm sitting there... he said they were waiting on dark meat, whatever that meant; while waiting a guy bought his food back and informed the guy that the sauce didn't taste like sauce and didn't know what it tasted like. They re did his order, i finally got my g-pan,my daughter and i left to go home. Got home and my g-pan tasted like nothing but SALT!!!!!!!! I WILL BE BACK IN THE MORNING TO LET THEM TASTE WHAT THEY SERVED ME AND MY FAMILY. I KNOW $16 MIGHT NOT BE MUCH BUT IT WAS MINE AND I CHOSE TO SPEND IT WITH YOU. IF YOU GAVE THIS TO ME AND YOU DID THIS TO ALL THE OTHER FOOD THAT LEFT YOU TOOK ADVANTAGE OF FOLKS MONEY! I TRIED TO CALL TO SEE WHAT TIME THEY CLOSED NO ANSWER BUT I DID LEAVE A MESSAGE. THIS WAS HORRIBLE AND I ADVISE ANYONE EATING FROM HERE ALWAYS,ALWAYS CHECK YOUR FOOD!If the owner reads this please take a word of advice, you are the head check on your body, they are serving terrible food with your name...

I don’t care how many times I come back to Chicago I will never and I repeat. I will never buy anything else from this restaurant again. Let me tell you something when I’m paying $25 for a Pan of chicken fries should be included not just the chicken your chicken ain’t that good every g pan of chicken I have ever gotten has came with fries, but you want somebody to pay $25 and pay up to $15 for some fries. You must got me messed up and we’re not gonna say I’m not from Chicago because I grew up in Chicago and I never recalled ever having to buy fries separate from a pan of chicken $25. The least y’all could do is put fries with it never again so you better take that $25 and get on down the yellow brick road cause you won’t ever get another dollar again. I could’ve just went to Popeyes and got a 10 piece meal For $25 at least I’m getting biscuits and two large sides versus just 10 pieces of chicken with some sauce on it. Overrated...

The food is great but the professionalism and their sense of time is very low. You can never get any rib tips because they're usually out. The cooks are very slow aswell, I've placed a order for 6 wings several times and it takes them over a hour to cook it or they just straight up forget my order.

Most of the cashiers are terrible aswell, mainly the women. They are typically on their phones and can't keep up. Not to mention they don't like answering the phones or they will straight up turn it off so no calls come through. Way too many times I've called while in the restaurant just to see and the phone just ringing and they're just standing there not answering. The only saving grace is the food is great but the professionalism just sucks and they desperately need...
