5 Points Haunted House Review — 6.9/10 Reviewed by Macabre Media 5 Points Haunted House in Chicago is an ambitious newcomer to the Illinois haunt scene — and for being owned and operated by a nineteen-year-old, it’s nothing short of impressive. The vision behind this attraction is bold, confident, and packed with potential. You can feel the passion in nearly every room, even when the execution doesn’t fully match the ambition just yet. The sets themselves are fantastic — expansive, detailed, and clearly inspired by some of the region’s best haunts. There’s a sense of scale here that immediately commands attention. Massive animatronics and large, immersive environments make the walkthrough feel more like a movie set than a seasonal attraction. The nun scene, in particular, stood out as one of the most cinematic moments. It genuinely felt like stepping into The Nun, complete with eerie atmosphere and a sense of dread that hung in the air. While the creative groundwork is undeniably strong, the production polish still has room to grow. Some rooms felt unfinished or could use a bit more detail, lighting control, or scare timing to really land their full effect. The bones are there — but tightening transitions, layering sound, and adding more subtle misdirection would elevate the experience dramatically. Scare-wise, 5 Points leans heavily on spectacle over suspense. The big set pieces and ā€œgrandā€ moments look great, but the haunt never quite reaches that sustained fear or unpredictability that keeps guests on edge. It’s more awe-inspiring than terrifying. On my walkthrough, I caught up to the group in front of me rather quickly, which broke the pacing and weakened some of the intended impact — something easily fixable with stronger spacing management or timed dispatching. One clever design choice worth noting is the split pathway near the end. It added a surprising twist that gave the experience replay value and a sense of choice — something few haunts dare to experiment with. It’s a small but smart touch that shows the creative direction has real promise. Overall, 5 Points Haunted House earns a solid 6.9/10. It’s a young haunt with the heart, ambition, and visual foundation to evolve into something truly special. With more polish, refined scares, and a sharper sense of pacing, it could easily become one of Chicago’s most talked-about haunts in the coming years. The potential here is limitless — and the fact that it’s the work of a nineteen-year-old makes that all the more exciting to watch unfold.

This was easy to get to. Plenty of parking available. We went on October 19. You can pay at the door instead of getting it online. It was a good half hour wait before getting in. Prices were reasonable for general admission. The only downside is having to wait behind this group of tweens and their chaperone was basically a rug that you can walk all over. The security had to tell them twice to knock it off. They were destroying some of the props. They should have all been kicked out with no refund. For the haunted house itself, it was great. I liked all of the details that went into them especially for their first year. I noticed from YouTube videos as well as our walkthrough, that there were two different paths. Our path didn’t have the giant troll or the church. There is a small souvenir shop at the end as well as some spots to take pictures.

I’m a huge Halloween person. Trust the 55+ five stars reviews. This is an excellent and well done haunted house. The fact that they found an abandoned space that is dilapidated and has history makes it so memorable and 1,000,000x more fun.

I used to go to dinner parties at the red barn banquet hall as a kid. So when my aunt told me it was a haunted house this season trying it out was a no brainier. First of the check in is easy and buying tickets ahead of time or paying at the gate is an option. The pricing is very reasonable. The family friendly option during the day is nice for those that want a fearless experience. We went at peak hours (7:30 PM) & the que was reasonable and haunted. Two animatronics plus three live actors & music. Can’t complain about that !

Once we got in which was nice and staggered so you are in a small group vs a crowd, there are some rules which she made fun and a few creepy passages and staircase; the haunted area winds around has several scenes a lot of creativity and it’s a perfect harmony of scary and thrilling but not mind disturbing over the top satanic or horrific, the actors were all amazing. One made me laugh by calling my faux fur shawl which was part of my costume a dead animal šŸ§”šŸŽƒšŸ§”

The last part is not a huge climax but it ends with classic haunted house frights then spools into a gift shop area with photo opps and clean bathrooms. 5/5 stars. My son loved it!! It was his first ā€œrealā€ haunted house experience. Thank you for choosing dupage for this...

This past weekend my husband, son and I had an epic adventure at Five Points first experiencing the behind the screams vip tour and then later that night the haunt itself. My son has been an avid Brick Thunder fan since he was five so to say his dreams came true is an understatement. BT is beyond welcoming and good to his fans and his family, who are involved in making Five Points so amazing were just fantastic to meet. They made my son feel like a rock star and I can't express how appreciative we are. This will for sure be a core memory. The six hour trip was 100% worth it and we will be back! Now onto the actual haunt itself. There is so much care and detail that go into every scene even from the minute you get in line because there are awesome actors interacting with you as you wait. The whole vibe is so on point. It's a perfect level of scary for the whole family. The animatronics are awesome as are the actors- that swamp scene and freezer got us really good!!! The creepy nuns in the church scene were a favorite as well as the lunch lady. We loved the different interactive parts too and can't wait to see what is up BT's sleeve for 2026! Highly recommend the tour and...
