I DO NOT recommend. Bad 2 Worse experience. Sharing details with anyone reading reviews considering doing business with Comprite (West Linn). Bate & Switch tactics.
My wife has an apple 2012 Macbook. We need to recover our family photos & videos saved on hard drive. The laptop turns on, but the operating system will not boot. I explained this situation & advised ONLY WANT TO RECOVER DATA from laptop. Cooper (front desk employee): "Yeah, we can "for sure" recover the data & diagnose the problem". I was ecstatic to hear that they would be able to recover the data "for sure". I paid for diagnostic/recovery fee up front. Cooper: "We'll have someone call you in a day/two". TWO WEEKS LATER, I FINALLY get a call from their tech Eric. He booted up the laptop & diagnosed the problem as failed hard drive. Eric: "We can replace the hard drive with a solid state drive (SSD) & recover the original drives files onto it". Not what I came in for, but for X dollars I can have the laptop working & all my files recovered, sure why not? I agreed, Eric would take care of it and call me within a few days when it was ready. After a few days, Eric: "Battery is dead, it's "puffy" & needs to be replaced". I said "Well I'm already paying X amount for the SSD & recovery, how much more is this going to cost me?" He replied "I'll only charge an additional X for the battery". Not convinced, I advised him I just had replaced the battery before the laptop stopped working. Eric: "Having not used your laptop in over X years the battery will wear overtime without usage or possible it heated up or it fell & cracked". I was skeptical, but agreed. A few days later Eric stated battery & SSD had been installed & almost ready for pick up, BUT they were having trouble recovering the data. I was upset, I had gone in specifically TO RECOVER THE DATA. From the beginning they implied that it was not a problem & that they would be able to recover it. Never stated that there might be some difficulty & not be able to UNTIL AFTER I had already agreed to replace the SSD & battery. Eric continued, "We can keep it a few extra days & continue to attempt recovery while we finish updating your laptop. If we can't recover it we'll refer you to an outside vendor & give you our discount code for them" & warned me that it was pricey. A couple of days later, Eric called still no luck. He stated he could continue to attempt recovery, BUT NOW they would have to charge me another X amount of dollars. I said "No. I'll just pickup the laptop". I settled on being bated & switched - in for data recovery & instead ended up with a replaced SSD, battery, & still no recovery. I brought the laptop home, turned it on & showed my wife it was working. Everything seemed fine. I put the laptop to sleep & it wasn't touched for another week. My wife went to turn it on, It didn't. Maybe the laptop battery was out of charge, so plugged-in charger, still not turning on. I considered the possibility that the charger/cord just needed to be replaced. Ordered a new charger. To my surprise brand new charger still didn't charge/turn on the laptop. I was upset but calm, Comprite would fix it since they have a 60 day warranty on their work. I dropped off the laptop the next day. A couple of days Eric calls, "You have to spend another X amount of dollars to replace the motherboard". I said "WHAT?! It was just in your possession & that was never once a problem! I USE IT ONCE and the motherboard goes out"?! Eric then became technical how it was because of old paste that had not been cleaned. My opinion, it was a bunch of technical fluff just to make themselves not liable for damaging the motherboard OR parts replaced not being compatible. I told Eric over the phone, "I'M DONE. I am not paying anymore money. I am coming down for my laptop & you can keep your SSD & battery. I want my refund for the labor & parts. You can keep the diagnostic/recovery fee, that I had agreed to upfront". Eric hesitated, but finally agreed. I received back my empty shell of a laptop & refund as discussed....

Read moreCheck all the reviews not a single bad review, so went to the West Linn CompRite Store. Great price, and the tech seemed nice & knowledgeable and said my cell phone screens would be replaced in a week. Called to see how things were going after four days just checking in. Tech was rude saying he wanted to have fun on a Holiday weekend too, and the phones would not be done til the end of the next week. I had to remind him I was not in a hurry just wanted the phones fixed right, and was just calling for an update. Both phones were not fixed at good quality. One was actually held for another week and a half, so tech could replace a part he broke for free. Still ok with this, but when I checked my phone screen it was loose & the phone was clearly pried open & scratched up, and the touch screen is now glitchy and randomly doesn't work or work incorrectly. The second phone was replaced with a part the was clearly not the correct part for the phone, but luckily we got our cell phone company to send a replacement. I could have dealt with the rude comment from tech, and even the extra time it took to get done, but not the shooty work will never return or refer customers to this shop... I'd give this shop a negative...
