San Blas Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in West Linn

Seat yourself, slow to acknowledge, after 15 mins, finally took order and said chips would be coming. 10 minutes later, had to get out of my seat and ask for chips. Hard to catch their attention. The attention I did get was friendly but very rushed. Told waitress I couldn’t have salsa because I have reaction to spices. But she failed to tell me the chicken was loaded with spicy chilies. Rice and beans were tasty and with chips they brought out a nice plate of pinto beans and original cabbage slaw. I would go back when I’m not in a hurry and sit in a very prominent seat so they can see me better, and ask questions about every dish to avoid the spice. Food is good but the worst service ever in the bar area. I don't know about the restaurant side service but it's been 4 months living in West Linn and it's a block away so good neighborhood location on top of the hill but they need some work. The bartender veers away from the bar a lot and is serving food and trying to do more of everything else. It's busy enough that they need a waiter in the bar area just for the tables so the bartender can focus on bar service. Please read this and improve it I like coming here but dred it at the same time. They are all good people and super nice but hire just another waiter at the bar side. My friend and I were so exited to try this place out and only ended up driving all the way from Beaverton to experience some of the worst costumer service we've received in a restaurant. Even with an empty bar and restaurant, our food came out wrong and had to be sent back, initial drinks took over 15 minutres to arrive, our table was left completely unattended for long periods of time. Sadly the food was nothing to make up for such a bad time. At the end the server blamed kitchen staff and their personal drama as the reason our plates kept being messed up. I give them an extra star for taking the second round of drinks...
