THE GAME STORE AND MORE — Local services in West Marion

Games work well most of the time, and they're cheap (some are sold at ludicrous prices)! So I'm not gonna say anything about the games, the consoles and controllers on the other hand... That's a different story! I bought a used "refurbished" PlayStation from them, and the thing worked for two months before the disk drive broke! But before the disk drive broke and I was never able to use my disk games again, I had to replace the hard drive the console came with because it was completely broken and kept overheating and shutting the whole thing off, the fan in the console had to be replaced because most of the fan was missing and it came with a controller that didn't work at all (thankfully I bought an extra controller from them while I was there, which I'll get to in a moment)! All in all, they owe me a free, new PlayStation and $200 for the piece of garbage they sold me! Not to mention, I bought two "new" remotes from them that I'm pretty sure were just repackaged used ones, because the first one I bought couldn't sprint in FPS games (which is a sign of an old remote), and the second one was incapable of holding a charge and literally stopped working completely within three days! Compare these to the new ones I bought off Amazon which are still working with almost no problems one and a half years later! Also, the PS4 that I bought had a frayed power cord that needed to be replaced, which I did eventually replace with a cord I bought from them (I will give it to 'em, it only cost two bucks to replace the power cord). All in all, it is was a $200 scam, and I got completely ripped off! Not to mention, I brought in a completely new copy of BO4 off them for $40 a few months after it's release and then sold it back to them a month later and somehow, they were only willing to give me thirteen bucks for it! came back like two weeks later and they were selling the thing for $35! Also, they offered my brother $32 for an almost brand new DS and 2 games (Pokemon Sun or Moon or something, and some new Mario game (I don't dabble in Nintendo)). Obviously, he turned it down, he was only doing it to see what they'd offer. The best thing about the game store is the employees, they were the only reason I actually used the game store! They were super helpful and friendly, and they would (all but one guy, who I've heard is the boss or owner (I dunno for sure who the boss is, though)) all try to help you find the best possible deals! Not a happy experience, and I'll never be going back! Also, I did try getting a refund once the disk drive broke unexpectedly, but alas, they wouldn't refund me or replace the PS4, claiming that they'd refurbished it and that it worked fine when they sold it to me (technically true about the disk drive, but I refurbished it myself because everything else was already broken, and since the disk drive died outta the blue, I am reluctant to think that it was ever fixed). Thanks for a terrible experience! I'll go somewhere more honest from now on, though,...

This place is amazing! Every time I come to Marion I go to this store at least twice. The staff is friendly and I can tell that they care about their products and their customers. Every game cartridge is thoroughly cleaned and individually wrapped, meaning no annoying sticky residue on your games! The prices here are some of the best I've ever seen and on top of that, they offer military discounts to active duty and retired vets! The only wish I have is that they develop a sort of customer rewards program which I think would help attract new customers and make loyal ones; like a point program or hole punch card. Nevertheless, if you find yourself in Marion, please make your way to this store; you'll be in awe at both the selection of games available and the outstanding prices. Definitely going back again...

We visited in April 2021 while on vacation and loved it! They have a huge selection of decently-priced games from nearly every console imaginable. We love finding video game stores during our travels that aren't GameStop and probably bought about 10 games. While talking with the guy working the counter he mentioned their return policy, and when we said we lived hours away he said if we had any trouble with a game to reach out and they'd see if we could work something out for replacement/refund. We haven't tried all of the ones we bought, but the ones we have used worked perfectly. Amazing customer service! Will definitely return if we're ever in...
