New China Buffett — Restaurant in West Marion

First off, we've never been here before and was headed to a different place before my boyfriend said oh let's go there!" I love Chinese food, so I was ecstatic! We walked in and the lady rang us up, we went to get our food she asked us what we wanted to drink (I assumed i did this myself since it was next to the food) We told her our drinks and we continued to get our food. My boyfriend went to sit down she yelled at him from across the room said No No here. He got up and came over there. (I don't like sitting on top of people, so he was going where there were only a few people, not 10.) So we sat down i started eating and immediately stopped. I cut open one of the pieces of chicken, and it was not done. It was still pink. I tried the rice, which they only had fried, I prefer steamed rice, and they didn't have any; it was hard. My boyfriend was starving, and he ate 2 bites and was done. It just wasn't good. There were very few items on the buffet. It's just something we will not go back to. This is just my/ our opinion. I wish them the best, but won't get anymore...

About $11 on a weekday dinner (water to drink). Totally self service buffet restaurant. Pay when you walk in through the dirty glass doors. Seat yourself, get your own silverware, drinks, etc. Small buffet and most of the food was mediocre... Sesame chicken was bland, egg rolls were bland. However the battered fried fish that came out fresh was delicious!! Worth it for that. The mushroom and beef dish was very good, too. Small selection of desserts and several ice cream flavors. The sign says children under 3 eat free. A customer had his 3-year old, and they charged him for her meal. The lady at the register said "children under 3 eat free. She is 3 so we charge". 3 stars for mediocre food and total self service, and we had to wait in line a long time for the 1 cashier to process everyone. A small child carried a phone around with her the entire time... to the table, the buffet area, cash register...loudly playing annoying TikToks that none of the rest of us wanted to hear while dining. Two years ago this would’ve been five stars. The buffet was delicious, and used to be a family favorite. However, not anymore. Not at the buffet is not good. By the looks of it, you would think thatCOVID is over. ITS NOT. Hardly anybody wearing masks, everybody’s touching the same spoons and tongs that have not been disinfected, Nothing is different than it was two years ago. So I got takeout. Less value for money, I had to wait, which is a problem since I’m on my lunch break. If they actually disinfected stuff, I would’ve gotten the Buffay, which would’ve meant more money for them anyway, and I wouldn’t of had to wait. Businesses, please just remember that Covid is not over
