Bojangles — Restaurant in West Marion

I usually enjoy Bojangles, but my recent visit was a huge disappointment. The young woman at the window was completely rude or too lazy to respond to my, “How are you?” I had to say it twice to get her to respond. It doesn’t take much to be a decent human. Then the chicken strips were small and barely lukewarm, like they’d been sitting out too long. I mean, they were small. I’m a grown man, which means when I go to a restaurant and pay full price for a meal, I expect it to fill me up. The next screw up was the undercooked biscuit they gave me with a weird tough upper layer that made it hard to eat. Isn’t Bojangles’ pride those hot, oily biscuits we pay for? Not to them. To top off all the stupidity and laziness, they didn’t even give me a spork for my mac and cheese, which made it a hassle to eat on the go. And of course, my drink was packed with so much ice that I got about two sips before it was empty. I also want to point out that the chicken strips have never been this small. It’s a way for the store to say, “We suck, we are in the red financially and we’re giving you tiny chicken strips to make up the difference.” Definitely not the experience I expected. Guys we pulled up to this location after trucking through the Pisgah National Forest. After descending down all of those 6% and 5% downgrades we were hungry and worn out! We walked into this location ready to eat a horse! My partner is Jamaican and had never tried Bojangle’s! I ordered him and myself a three piece dark meat meal with french fries and coleslaw and of course a sweet tea for myself. The manager Janet and her team worked on our order and had it ready in no time! Heck, I hadn’t been back to Bojangle’s in years! That three piece meal took me back to when I was mere teenager, the year was 1990 and we had just gotten out of the nightclub and the only place open that everyone gathered at was Bojangle’s. How dare you use a robotic system at the drive-through! We only went for our boys, and we had to go in to order because the drive-through system is a wreck! Dylan inside, the human interaction was great! Everything was correct only because Dylan made sure once we left the unusable drive-through to go inside after a 12-hour day plus drive and trying to use convince and overpay for mediocre food. Not done, covered in dirt from planting and running around for an MRI for one young man and ya'll have the audacity use a system where we can't speak to a human and have to go inside to see one!
