UPDATE: I stopped back in on May 31st 2019 and spoke to the owner Rick. He was understanding and remorseful that an employee treated me this way, but also explained why in the past this was done. I completely understood. He stated they have since change their policies and this would not happen again. I then was able to go through their massive back stock and picked up many books to include a Swamp Thing #37. Rick also made up for the issue I had. I will now be back. Thank you Rick for the concern and resolution. I am new to the area and I went in looking for a new shop to get my pull of about 30 different titles and decided to rummage around their back boxes and found five or six books that I wanted. They are all priced and I was happy to find those books and I went up to the counter and then realized I left my wallet in the car. I went to go get my wallet and came back and the prices of the books have changed drastically as the guy behind the counter started looking them up. He still gave me what he considered a deal on one or two of them and I went ahead and grabbed them as I had a hard time finding them at other places but I will never be back in this store again. If these books were not priced I can understand but if they are out for the public and they have a sticker on them with a price then that's what it should be regardless if it was your...
Read moreLocated in Melbourne this comic shop is nothing impressive. Damaged toys are being sold for a 40% markup from current retail value and market value. Also they claim to be inclusive and supportive of lgbt people yet the ladies who work there give me sny looks when I come in and have nasty attitudes. This location complains about not getting collections in often yet everytime I have came to them with decent lot assortments of stuff like Star Wars and Marvel Legends they constantly reject it. They then say that Star Wars or anything I bring to them don’t sell; well nothing is going to sell well when you don’t have decent selections of them to begin with; you can pretty much find everything there at GameStop, Target, Walmart or Ollie’s. They have rejected many high ticket figures that I have presented to them without making an offer. There was one month I was just trying to get by and make pocket change to feed myself and was outright rejected even when I brought them high ticket items that have high selling rates; so supportive to not help a queer person when you claim to be so supportive. I don’t know what their problem is and it’s mostly the ladies that work there that give me the most coarse interactions. The only saving grace is the long haired dude that’s always there; great guy to converse with. There store in Boynton beach is better and has so much more variety and always gets great collections in as well as having...
Read moreI edited this review I was extremely upset initially because of how the exchange happened between me and 1 staff rep (don’t know his name) in short I felt I was not treated well and when I asked my brother to help me out in selling my comics he did the same this I did also spoke to a guy and was told to come on in with no description of the comics I called about giving initially and I was offended and upset I didn’t get the same response even though my story was completely the same as how my brother explained and I even gave details on what I had with me I was turned away and told to send an email which never got read either way I was upset about it because my brother was able to get the outcome that I wanted without his help I probably wouldn’t have sold them right away. I saw your response to my message and appreciate the sentiment but you need to extend the same grace to everyone! I was the one selling the comics why was it so difficult I had to ask another human being for help and we did the same exact thing called in spoke to a guy and got completely different responses anyways that’s for reading and taking the time to see it from my point of view this was a 1star and now I’ll...
