This is the very first time I am writing a review. I feel compelled to inform future patrons of a horrible experience I received from the owner of this store. The store is privately owned and is not a corporate store of La-Z-Boy. Because of this corporate can only attempt to reason with the owner on behalf of a unsatisfied customer but has no real authority. It is up to the owner who will make all final decisions. The way I believe it should be. However, it was the owner of this store who refused to work with me after purchasing 2 sofas. One with a bed the other with a recliner on both ends. The fabric of the recliner sofa was defective and was returned to La-Z-boy for donation or destruction. I replaced the sofa with the same grade fabric "Letter C" but the owner charged me $235. more. The original purchase was for the same grade fabric but they were running a special on the defective low grade material. I believe after several trips to the store and 2 in home visits (had to take time off from work) it should have been an even exchange. If I were upgrading the material I would have expected to pay more. However, the owner had me. Even Corporate attempted to reason with the owner saying they fully understood what inconvenience this was and made several calls to the owner on my behalf. The owner refused to budge and charged me the $235 more for the same sofa with the same quality (Letter C) fabric. I have purchased many items from this store and even brought my parents to the store when they relocated to Melbourne. I felt as though the OWNER ripped me off. A good business person would have evenly exchanged the sofa just for the inconvenience alone. It would have been the right thing to do. Well, they get no more business from me and as a small business owner myself all my customers will be advised the same. Shame on you Mr. Owner of La-Z-Boy of Melbourne. Watch out, I believe he owns several other La-Z-Boys. Suggest you do your homework...
Read moreI am beyond disappointed and frustrated with the services of La-Z-Boy. When we first ordered back in July we were told a approximately 12 weeks for delivery (itâs even written on our receipt). With zero communication from the La-Z-Boy store, we received couches six months later after being lied to by our local store that the couches were finished and in transit months earlier only to find out they hadnât even been made. We were repeatedly denied a refund even before the couches had ever been made. When we finally did receive the couches the delivery men noticed that two foot rests did not recline and one seat cushion was made incorrectly. Thatâs 50% of our couch made wrong. The tech came out and said he ordered the parts and we would have them in a week but the cushion would take up to 6 weeks. It has now been seven weeks and nothing has been fixed. The tech had to reorder the cushion stating La-Z-Boy canceled the order. We have had a case open with Customer Care Support documenting this entire process. The Melbourne store will not take responsibility and neither will Customer Support for La-Z-Boy. Both parties (the franchise store and corporate) put blame and responsibility on the other while the customer is âhung out to dry.â We are on 8 months without usable couches and all I want is a refund and to be done with the company La-Z-Boy. The only person we can speak to at the store is Patti, even though we have asked to speak to higher ups as she has been zero help. The company nor the store have taken any responsibility. On top of all this... we wanted a four seat wide leather couch, but apparently, itâs just a sectional thatâs four seats wide. The bottom right back end of the couch tilts in making it look broken (pictures have even been sent and no answers have been given). We were never told that it would look like this and were sold a couch that did not match the couch...
Read moreWell about a month ago I went into the store and picked out a green recliner and was told they had it in stock. The day of the delivery they delivered a brown one . I called my salesman Madison and told him that I would take the one off the floor then, he went on to tell me that the one on the floor was sold and being delivered to Merritt Island so I told him that I would be in after work to pick out a different one. Once I got to the store Madison said I did get the one off the floor, someone is lying to me because I can tell the difference between brown and green. So I picked out a more expensive one that was leather and I was told I had to pay another delivery charge and a restocking fee, I tried to argue it but the owner would not budge even Madison agreed with me. So when they delivered the leather one I had my husband ask the delivery guys if the first chair that was delivered if it actually came off the showroom floor and they said it came from the warehouse and they took it out of the box. I argue with the salesman and also went to the Better Business Bureau about them that I wanted my money back for the restocking fee and for the second delivery charge. They answered the first complaint through the Better Business Bureau but never answered the second response. It is not like I am a new customer this is the 7th chair that I have bought from them, and if this is the way they treat a regular customer then they don't have very good customer service. Don't ever buy from them because they are nothing but liars and cheaters. I really didn't want to give them...
