*SECOND UPDATE: Rooms to Go is replacing the loveseat, which was half of the issue. The sofa was marked "repaired," but it was missing parts. The technician accidentally threw out some of the parts instead of installing them. They have ordered parts, again, and apparently have another month window to receive them. The entire situation is nearly laughable at this point. It bears repeating though - DO NOT PURCHASE FROM ROOMS TO GO. Also, they keep commenting that they'd like to speak to me about the issue upon seeing the negative review(s). Out of courtesy, I did call them, but the message is the same each time - "there's nothing we can do." Rooms to Go - no need to feign interest and comment again.
*UPDATE: I posted the below review last week. Yesterday, a technician came out and spent several hours replacing the 4 mechanisms that were supposed to fix the issues. They did not. Now they need to order more parts and we have no estimate on when the work will be completed. Also, we were told a couple weeks ago that the technician was out sick, which is why our appointment had to be rescheduled. He clarified that he wasn't out sick that day, but was assigned too many work orders to keep up with so several had to be canceled. I was hoping for a better update, but it's only gotten worse. I would highly recommend you stay away from this company. Communication and integrity are obviously not priorities for Rooms to Go and the customer service is as bad as I've ever experienced.
We purchased a power sofa and loveseat here a couple years ago and purchased the extended warranty with the furniture. The furniture was fine until the "mechanisms" in all 4 reclining seats broke. We called the warranty company and scheduled a technician visit. The technician came out on 7/14 and determined that all the parts needed to be replaced. He also mentioned that it would be very costly for to company since it's a long and tedious job, so we should ask about a replacement credit toward a new set.
A week later the representative called and said they'd have to order parts. I mentioned what the technician said and the representative said that they could call me with the cost of the repair and that we could choose whether to repair the furniture or use the credit towards a new set. A week or two later, 4 massive boxes showed up at my house containing all of the repair parts. I called to ask why we weren't given the credit option and was told that never happens - they only do repairs. I attempted to schedule the repair but was told that they'd have to call me back to schedule it. I waited another week and didn't get a call, so I called again. They set an appointment but the soonest available was 8/20 - 6 weeks after we initially called them. I accepted the appointment but the technician didn't show up and that evening they called and said we needed to reschedule. I've been unable to reach them until today, a week after the missed appointment. We have the repair scheduled for a week from now, but I've lost confidence. Assuming the technician shows up and is able to make the repair, it will have taken 2 months from the time we contacted them to get our furniture repaired, which is ridiculous.
We have purchased lots of furniture from Rooms to Go over the past 10 years, but will never again do so. It should not take months to get furniture repaired - especially when customers paid an additional cost for a "hassle free" extended warranty. I would strongly suggest that you purchase furniture elsewhere. If you must have something from Rooms to Go, do yourself a favor and do not purchase the...
Read moreWell, where do I start? Well, let’s start off by saying that our sales woman in the Melbourne location, was actually amazing. Her name was Sherry. She has been trying to be helpful during this entire process over the past few months. It has been a complete nightmare. We ordered, A sectional couch, an area rug for the living room, and (2) End tables, a dining room table, with (6)chairs, (3) barstools, a queen size bedroom set, with (1) nightstand and a long dresser with the mirror. We moved into a brand new home, so we wanted all brand new things. We gave them over two months in advance To get things ordered and the delivery was set for October 1st for the living room and my daughter’s bedroom set. They told us in the store that our dining room table. Chairs and our barstools will not be here until October 29th, So then we get told that our end tables wouldn’t be here on October 1st And that was a few days before we were supposed to get our delivery. Then they came back and said that they would be here. The whole thing was a nightmare. It was a whole bunch of back and forth. The day of October 1 everything gets here that was supposed to be here. We got our dining room table, but with no chairs. And no barstools. Halfway through they don’t even have part of our order because the guy forgot to look at the whole Nother list he tried not to give us our lamps and our end tables claiming that he didn’t know that it was on the list.. Then the guy drop my daughters, nightstand and cracks and breaks my lamp so then we had to get a replacement that just came a few days ago.. After the fourth call of us back of telling us that our date would be October 29, then it went to November 12th for the rest of our order. I just don’t understand how we give them over two months in advance and we cannot seem to get the rest of our order on the day that we were told that we would get it. It is gone from November 12 back to October 29. It is gone back-and-forth telling us it would be here on the 29th and not to worry then they said November 12 for half of the order and the other half would be October 29 and now we just got a call two days ago telling us that the rest of our order will not be here until November 12th. We can’t even eat our own dining room table because we have no chairs. We can’t sit at our island because we don’t have our barstools. And I would really appreciate getting my stuff before Thanksgiving and the holidays. I cannot seem to get a response from anybody to help us out with this except for our sales person and she can’t seem to get anywhere because she’s getting the run around as well. We had the worst customer service this entire time from the people in the warehouse and incorporate are the absolute nastiest people I’ve ever encountered in my life. And the sales manager in the Melbourne store, I believe his name is Toby also talks to you like your an idiot. Anyways, I know this was a long explanation and quite confusing but at the end of the day it’s also confusing us because we’ve had so much back-and-forth on our order and they still can’t guarantee that we’re even going to get our order on...
Read moreI shopped at the Melbourne Rooms To Go. Everything was fine until I actually made the purchase. I spent $4000 for two beds. My son's bed was fine when mine came. It was nothing like the bed that was on the floor. I am disabled I get around in a scooter. I have serious medical issues, so getting a bed is important I found out that I got adjustable headrest upgrade with my mattress which I couldn't use because of the fact that it put me at an angle where it was putting pressure where I cannot have pressure and I did not know that was going to happen, and my mattress is so hard nothing like what was in the store that I was in so much pain. I was literally almost crying and had to get up and sleep on the couch. I called them the very next day and explained my issues and said I would go ahead and buy a boxspring because they said they would not take back the adjustable bed OK that was my fault but I need a soft mattress they told me I had to keep it for 30 days and sleep on it. I told them I can't because of my medical issues it puts me in severe pain I cannot sleep in that much pain and Todd one of the managers there informed me that he didn't care he said I was able to get around a little bit stand up and move a little bit that I needed to go in there and be in severe pain for 30 days to give my mattress a chance have you ever heard of such a thing? I am so upset about this and I have totally lost faith in this Rooms To Go store. I love Rooms To Go and I will still continue to shop there but I warn people be very careful when you're purchasing a bed buy it online. Customer Service told me if I would've bought this online I would not have this problem but for manager to tell a disabled person to be in severe pain for 30 days to break a bed in I can't even fathom that so if you want to shop there, beware order online so now I have to wait 30 days sleeping on the couch because I am not going to be in that much pain on a nightly and daily basis for the 30 days to be up instead of them just doing the right thing the kind thing and allow me to buy a boxspring and exchange out the mattress now due to my...
