I love visiting here during the Spring & Summer growing season. The variety is great! I go every year in anticipation of watermelons & tomatoes and they're usually very good. One vendor had an extensive variety of melons including some heirloom. There were red, orange, & yellow meat melons and all have been very good. My only complaint is that it's near to impossible to get hold of actual home grown tomatoes. A couple of vendors sometimes have a limited quantity of heirloom Cherokee Purple tomatoes which are my absolute favorite tomatoes of all time. Other tomatoes I've bought this summer leave me leary of eating them because while most would continue to ripen, the tomatoes I bought there on 2 separate occasions from 2 different vendors never ripened further after I got them home. I mean no changes resulted after having had them on my kitchen counter for literally weeks. They were not refrigerated after I purchased them but I have to wonder if they were before I bought them either by the grower or the vendor. Refrigerating them halts ripening and has a terrible effect on the texture & flavor, they're mealy and taste green. Sorry I have no photos, hadn't actually thought of taking any.
There will be vendors with pumpkins very soon if they don't have some already, I haven't been there in 2 weeks. One vendor last year had a great variety. Don't forget to check them out when shopping for your Fall & Halloween decor
In summation, aside from the issues with tomatoes this year, I highly recommend the West Monroe City...
