Givorns Foods — Local services in West Point

Only because I was on a mission to find some Neck Bones, this was my first time shopping this store in years. Had a completely different experience from back then. Amazing how time can change things. It was unusually later in the day for me to just be heading to the grocery store, but was happy I started here. Greeted by a happy friendly worker as soon as I walked in the door. Didn't find those Neck Bones, but did come away with an overall lovely experience along with some other items I'd been looking for that other stores no longer carry. Ms Trina was the icing on the cake ringing up my items. I just wish folks would stop walking off with carts making more work for employees. I don't mind bringing out my own bags, but a nice gentleman escorted my cart of items to the car and I loaded them in. Thanks Givorn's. Hopefully, this location is separately owned/operated than the Valley location where I was followed outside to my car accused of shoplifting. Yeah, was having a really off sleep deprived Sun morning earlier this year, but cracked her face when I willingly let her search my car. Heifer backed down with the quickness!!!!!!...

They have the best meat which you can order in any amount, have sliced like you want & specials every week. The prices are reasonable. It is a family owned small store. They will still bag and take your items to your car. They just don't have the fresh salads or salad kits which I like. They also have cakes , thin layers, lots of icing, which you can buy in 1/2 or a full cake. They are really good cakes & my family taught me to bake. You never have to fight to find an open register. Friendly people work here, have had a few bag boys that would only run to help when I had a small order- just for the tip. I'll carry my order out rather than have them do it. The older people are very helpful. They have a great frozen food...

For the most part their prices are slightly higher.. but let me say... this grocer is part of our local community. Their egg prices are very reasonable... their meat cutter has a great reputation for quality cuts... the produce section has changed alot in recent months but still well stocked with the wants and needs of our community... this week I purchased pork steaks (4) that were absolutely wonderful and the hamburg as always I use by the handfuls to make sloppy joes.. chili cheese dogs.. and spaghetti. All for less than $14. And that includes 4 large chicken quarters.. which made meals for me...
