This is a wonderful environment to have a nice sit down romantic meal however I cannot support a business that is black owned but I did not see one black employee. We watched the owner go around saying hi and having conversations with their white patrons but when it came time to us she came over with a sour hi and that's it. The husband did the same went by us several times never acknowledged us but had the same energy with his white customers as did the wife. I'm guessing because we we're in our work cloths we appeared to be broke, not the case infact it was a Friday so both my coworkers and I had plenty to spend, my coworker had gone there the day before to celebrate a birthday party he'd explained that while they were in the back room of the establishment laughing and celebrating the owner comes over and closes the door saying now yall maybe as loud as yu want. Not to mention the meals are not worth the $$ for two people our bill was over a hundred dollars. Still not a problem but if I spend that kind of $$ and you have your nose looking down on me as if I'm not good enough I shall NEVER RETURN or refer anyone else to such a highfalutin bougie place. After we headed out the husband says thanks for coming, really! So our discussion on the way home was why do we think the owners were as snobby as they are? After watching the wife actions especially towards the beautiful black female guest is that I suspect some insecurities on her part, maybe she feels as if her husband's roaming eyes towards the prettier black ladies is a problem for her, which is exactly why she doesn't have any black employees atleast not on the day we visited and other's have said the same, when the husband passes by the black females table he just dropped his head as if he would get into trouble for looking. Anyway after hearing about this non classy place as far as the owners go I will never go back. However the building and atmosphere was very nice that's it, but you will not be getting my $$ simply because your...
Read moreVery nice servers and good location. I feel like this place has potential to be great but isn't there yet. And that may be due to their local patrons - you are going to offer what your customers want. However, I sought out this spot because it was a wine bar and I didn't feel like that was what I found when I got there. A few things that I thought could be improved on: There was a limited wine menu (for a wine bar) it was similar to an average restaurant list. The menu did not include any descriptions of the wine, just the brand name and glass/bottle price. The website advertised $5 house wine, but nothing about that special was mentioned to us while we were there. I didn't see the ticket, so I don't know if he paid $5 for the wine or the menu price of $13. But I felt like the servers should have said something about the special pricing. The music was too loud and distracting. I would have thought something instrumental would have been better than the R&B (?) that was playing, or maybe jazz would be a good option. Either way, it wasn't a great setting for conversation. The food selection wasn't really what I would expect with a wine bar. There was one charcuterie board listed in the apps, that I felt was over priced. It may have been huge and loaded with meats and cheeses, but my date is pescatarian so a plate full of cured meats wasn't a good option for us. I also would have liked to have seen more small plate items and selection of finger-foods that would pair well with wine since this was a wine bar. I'll keep an eye on their website and may try them again. I'd love to actually javelin a nice wine bar where you could find a good selection of wine, and good food options that pair well with the wine to graze on while spending time talking with...
Read moreVery long waits, very expensive, very disorganized-- a mess! For $40 a plate, the portion sizes are very small. Had a vegetarian guest served meat. Ms Tiffany has a horrendous attitude! Probably a better value to eat somewhere else!
EDIT: I see the owner responded. Only problem is... I was not part of whatever group they were referring to. You can see the attitude they have toward guests! I'm sure that party paid a LOT for their meal and the whole time they were looking down on them with disdain. It seems other guests had a bad experience too for her to assume that was me.
Just for a mathematical visual, 35 plates at $40 a piece adds up to $1,400... without drinks or desserts. These people in the group in question easily spent more than 2 grand for their event. Imagine spending more than $2,000 on a special event just for the event hosts to trash talk you on the web! Just unprofessional and rude all around! Most of the good reviews here are actually personal friends of the owners and Ms. Tiffany, not honest reviews.
And BTW... pants on a woman at a "formal"...
