The YMCA is located in a large wooded area. The pool is a standard 25 yards length pool. The pool water is always warm. In fact much warmer than you would expect which is great during the winters. The showers can get really HOT. There are two big Sauna rooms (dry and wet) are present in the men's and women's locker rooms. Soap is always present in case you've forgotten to bring some. There is a large hot tub for adults. There are swim lanes, family times and other activities. There are group and private swim lessons available. The pool (3.5 ft to 9.5 ft deep) is usually not crowded on week days. There is an outdoor pool (3 ft to 4 ft deep) for summer with a toddler sprinkler area for those hot summer days. There is a facility for indoor ping pong/pickleball during weekdays and weekends otherwise there is a full size basketball court. Also there is an indoor walking area that surrounds the basketball court. This is useful for seniors and or those who prefer natural walking area than a treadmill. There is a small kids playground indoors. There is a rock wall for climbing. The gym has all updated equipment with plenty of wipes and water stations. Yoga, aerobics or pickleball sessions are ongoing every day. Evenings are mostly packed with teens, kids and adults. Mornings are usually packed with adults and seniors. Family swim times are available everyday. The swim lanes are shared with up to 7 in a lane but most of the times, it would 2-3 during busy hours or just yourself during off hours.
Overall nice place. YMCA members from other places can use the facility but check with the front desk. Would love the following features in the future Indoor Racket sports (squash/ tennis) Family restrooms for pool access A snack bar for the summer...
Read moreDisappointed with the service my family and I received while signing up for swimming lessons. Arrived half an hour early to sign up yet did not get registered until there was barely anytime left to attend the first lesson. The young lady at the desk appeared to be new at the job and a more experienced lady who should have been helping her drifted away to help another new family there to sign up when we still clearly needed help. A third gentlemen later joined the fray but still couldn't sign us up in time and blamed the system being uncooperative. When asked if we could allow my daughter to attend the class while they sorted the issue and offering that either my spouse or myself would stay at the desk to complete the registration process, we were refused. The gentleman then continued to mention that the Y would refund money for classes missed due to Y's fault. When I inquired if they would refund me the first lesson that we just missed due to the system mishap, we were told no. Literally the opposite of what we were told seconds before. When I argued this point, the gentleman said, "do you want to sign up or not", basically dismissive of the terrible service we had been subjected to all this while. It's unfortunate that we still had to sign up but I'll be actively looking for alternatives from...
Read moreYet another horrible member service experience. The whole staff here needs an in-service on member relations. There are so many issues in this place.1st off, the staff are unknowledgeable. I can't tell you how many times I've gone to the desk to ask a question and have gotten a blank stare and an "I don't know" while a huge office filled with staff is 5 feet behind them. Why can't they go ask someone? The child watch staff is decent weekday mornings and horrible most nights. It seems they are not very skilled with handling multiple children. I will not put my kids in with them ever again. The infant child watch room is stiflingly hot from May - October. A "policy"does not even allow parents to enter the child watch room. "Policy" is really a big word in this place. The staff is quick to throw it in anyone's face who has different needs than the typical member. For the price this place charges (even with a sliding scale most family memberships are 100+ per month) you would think they would be better trained or selective in their hiring practice. I don't know how much longer I can take dealing with the sometimes aloof other times confrontational staff who seem to like policing members and go out of their way to interrupt people who just want to work out and go home. Not worth the...
