Arlington Jewelry & Pawn — Local services in Wheeling Township

My husband and I recently moved to the area and ran into unforeseen circumstances and we were very fortunate to have went to Arlington Jewelry and Pawn!! from the moment we walked in their store they made us feel very welcome! The Owners are the nicest people and are extremely trustworthy! They take pride in their store and they are second to none with their amazing customer service ! You can’t train that! It comes from within !!! We did and will continue to highly recommend my family and friends as well as the people who may be reading this review! My husband and I went to them 2 times within a few week period because of their great honest service! Even when calling them on the phone they go above and beyond for us. I know they do the same for all of their customers!! Their store is spotless and they have a really nice variety of merchandise ! They have special sales always going on as well ! It’s not always people walk into a shop and feel really comfortable my husband and I want to personally thank them for everything they have done for us and let them know how much we really appreciate their kindness and outstanding customer service! We will continue to shop here and as I said we highly recommend them to everyone! If there were 10 stars that’s what we would give them ! Our friends who went there feel the exact way we do! We greatly appreciate that we have a place to go to Shop, to use their services if we run short on money or simply want to sell something! My husband and I used to get top quality experiences when Kelly was working long before his son was born. After his son grew up and I guess now manages it. I will never go back.

I was quoted a price. Another worker anxious to seal the deal in buying my object. I wanted to consult my husband. Then life stepped in, I had to have eye surgery, so I wasn't able to go back for a month.

When I did, I was again told my price was still good by the woman working.(she was friendly) Then owners son looking mean, not friendly, no greeting, no eye contact. Said he didn't want it, not worth the money I was first quoted OR the same price qoted 1 minute ago by his female worker.

When I mentioned several times that I was told that the condtion the value was $40.00 and it was greetly wanted.. by that man- pointing to another worker who was busy at the counter with another customer! (That was ignored)

Owners son - finally looked at me with a who cares look, like I disturbed him, said "Then you should have sold it when you came first time. I don't want it. No value!" My impression of his sour mean look was shock!

Customers should not be treated like that. No greeting, no eye contact...then go against what 2 employees promised me and then tell me talk bluntly with out emotion except disdainful.

Shame on you son! I remember when you were born. We shared in the proud dad moments of your life, we gave you your first golf set.....to see you turn out completely opposite of your friendly, kind, wonderful and informative...

This beautiful, modern pawn shop is a far cry from the pawn stores of yesteryear ... you know, the seedy ones imagined in film noir movies. Even a few stores that exist today rock this dirty, dark, and cluttered vibe. I'm thinking specifically of a store I went to in San Francisco's Tenderloin District and one in Chicago's South Loop.

Arlington Jewelry and Loan is the polar opposite of this vibe - bright, contemporary, organized, and inviting. It's kind of like going into a jewelry store without the high-pressure sales pitch. Although I've never bought anything here, I've sold gold and some antiques on 4-5 different occasions during the last 2 years. While I've never met the "mystery owner" - Melissa, Andy, and Matt are very personable.

They offer fair prices on gold and test everything in front of you. Bonus points for the bowl of little candies on the counter! I've considered trying another high-rated neighborhood pawn shop ... but why bother when this is the best in...
