I have never seen in my 55 years a better selection of new and quality pre owned watches in two locations in my life. Maybe I’m too sheltered but it’s the truth. I love everything Horology. I think I know a lot but I really don’t. The professionals that make up the Burdeen’s’s family of sales people are the best in the business. I think whether you are buying a $250,000 time piece or like me, a simple few thousand dollars watch you are treated exactly the same! A month ago Ashley at the beautiful downtown Michigan Avenue boutique took the best care of me. I ended up buying a very special, limited edition 60th Grand Seiko! Ashley taught me that quartz watches are used by all of the worlds leading brands! I made some silly false assumptions about quartz. If you’re in the city and you need a brand new timepiece or an amazing assortment of preowned go to Burdeens on Michigan Ave and ask for Ashley. Just yesterday I thought I would leave work early and go take a look at the Buffalo Grove store. I almost fell over when I saw what existed there. I can tell you the best of the best brands new as well as the best of the best brands preowned from a few thousand dollars and less all the way up to the kind of numbers I will never be able to afford. I can tell you the best of the best brands new and the best of the best brands preowned are there. A very kind woman named Irina assisted me. She asked me if I wanted any help and I said sure why not I really didn’t have any intentions of buying, but they did such a great job with the first grand Seiko, I wanted to see more! She showed me another preowned grand Seiko spring drive that retails for almost double what I ended up paying!!I also received with both purchases the original box and papers and Burdeen’s’s gave me a one-year warranty on each preowned watch! I have been telling everyone about my experiences and how pleased I am. Evan is the sales manager. He made sure that my experience at both stores was the best it could possibly be and it’s a pleasure seeing him when you go there. He makes you feel right at home and have just an amazing amount of knowledge that I can learn from every time I go. I Wish I could buy more...

Read moreI have shopped and also gotten my watch batteries replaced at Burdeen's for years. Today, I went in to get two watch batteries replaced and was being helped by a woman who had an accent (I did not get her name) and an attitude. She arrogantly explained that the batteries would either cost $10 without a warranty, or $50 with one in regards to replacing the seal, etc. I told her that this is the first time I've heard of this, and they've been putting in $10 batteries in my Gucci and my Movados for years, which appears to not even last a year. (Had I known this, I would have paid the $50!) She loudly sniffed and rudely told me that's what happens with old watches (Dare I say that I have a Cartier Bleu at home, among others?) I told her that she was being condescending and rude, and to hand me back my Gucci. The snob appeared taken aback and indignant...not one apology forthcoming. I told her I would not be getting my batteries there, and to hand over my Gucci watch, since she was still holding it. I had to ask her SEVERAL TIMES to give me my watch back, as she was ignoring me and compelled to continue her inane watch tutorial.... (I guess my second watch, a vintage Fossil really threw her for a loop). Her behavior was utterly inappropriate and disturbing. I normally would have asked for a manager, but I felt it was time to take my business elsewhere. I will not frequent any place that does not respect it's customers. This woman was...
