I’ve been a regular at this antique store for some time, and while I’ve always appreciated the unique pieces, my recent experience was disappointing. During my latest visit, I found a piece of furniture I liked and politely asked the owner, Chris, if there was room for a discount, given my frequent visits. I asked a couple more times, but when he said no, I respected that and moved on to checkout.

When it came time to pay, I mentioned that my cash was in my car and suggested that he could place the item in my car while I retrieved the money. His response was harsh—he told me, “Pay it and then touch it.” I was taken aback but chose to remain silent, went to get the cash, and returned to complete the transaction.

As I was leaving, I calmly told him that the way we were treated felt unnecessary. His response was to become verbally aggressive, cursing and insulting me, calling me “trash,” and using other profanities. I understand that people have bad days, but that’s no reason to take it out on a loyal customer.

If Chris considers himself a “nice person,” it’s unfortunate that he lost his temper like this. I’m deeply disappointed by how I was treated, especially as a regular customer who has always respected...

It’s a fun store, some overpriced things. Extremely hot! I was walking around trying on a bag in the store. I ended up not being sure and put it back. We walked around then left.
