Venus Cafe — Restaurant in Whitman

I tried the Venus Cafe for the first time today for takeout. I ordered a green pepper onion and mushroom pizza. I got there early and got it as soon as he popped it into the box, so there was no time for it to steam in the box. I usually have my dog with me, so that's why I get take-out a lot. A little bit of flop at the beginning due to it being piping hot and loaded with toppings. Tasted great, and the price was good. This place is one of the goats of this style of pizza, ssbp. The only complaint is that they use sliced toppings, not chopped. And that's just a personal preference due to years of thinking I took a clean bite of pizza, and then a chunk of blistering topping comes with it and tags me on the chin. Lol. I went to the takeout side and dealt directly with the cook, and he was very nice. I have no clue about the bar area, but friendly kitchen staff speaks volumes for a place. I'm slowly trying all the places that do this style of pizza in the area, and this one did...

Service: absolutely horrendous. We had a party of about 12 and the woman who waited on us was obnoxiously rude. She treated our table so poorly and we watched as she was nice to every other table she had. We were patient and understand it takes time to make pizzas. We are in our 20s and we’re very respectful and nice to her. She had older people at the other tables she was serving and she treated them so nicely. We were not rowdy at all and it’s like she hated us the moment we came in. She ruined the end of the night for my birthday. She also forgot one of the pizzas we ordered and my friend didn’t have food until an hour later. She was mad when we asked for waters for the table, and i’m not sure why because that’s a normal thing to ask for.

The pizza: Pizza was pretty good and I enjoyed it but the service was so horrible i’ll probably never go back again. Pickle pizza...

4/2024- I'm editing my review once again because I stopped eating meat at the beginning of the year and the veggie pizzas they make here are out of this world. The veggies are always fresh and good as hell. If you don't appreciate this pizza you don't appreciate ART and you should try it again.Just updated my review because my passion for this pizza grows daily. I would do insane things for this pizza. If this business ever closes, I will actually die. Tangy sauce, amazing cheese blend, plenty of pepperoni, LACY, CRISPY EDGES! No pizza crust compares to this. It is so good, Every! Time!. This is the kind of place you can leave without having to look in the box. I will say I personally believe it's best eaten cooled down/completely cold. But if I could give 10/5 I would.
