I’ll start by saying IM A HOMEGOODS GIRLIE, Homegoods is normally where I go to shop and unwind (the store brings me joy) I SPEND A-LOT OF MONEY IN HOMEGOODS. However today there’s some things about my experience at this location that turned my stomach and for so many reasons.
One I needed help so I went to a female( African American short with a ponytail and wearing all black) who obviously works at the store and I knew that because she was rearranging the shelves. I said “excuse me” she turned around instantly with a look of discuss on her face. She did get a gentleman to help me who was very nice (I’m sorry I didn’t get his name) maybe a bald head green shirt lighter complexion.
I spent some time in the store looking as always. But once at the register a African American male appears (I’ll assume loss prevention VERY OBVIOUS) who proceeded to hold a conversation with the gentleman that helped me about customers returning items, stealing, adjusting receipts ect. Which I feel was held so I could hear ( a waste of time because I work in law enforcement and I’m no thief) just very unprofessional. I’m insulted because I work in law enforcement and have the last 15 plus yrs and actually love what I do. Now do I look like it probably not (that’s the good thing). He obviously thought I was up to something I guess because of how I looked and I was the only one of my complexion in the store at that time other than the few workers and my friend who came to purchase a book shelf I put on hold for her. To you sir, one; your terrible you should have never showed your hand you actually probably should go for further loss prevention training, if you’ve had any at all, because you should know to never judge a book by its cover and to never show your hand. Thieve's have no look but I know you know that. This whole experience today was hurtful and a smack in the face. Especially when you work hard yourself daily to...
Read moreI think that everyone can agree that when you go into Homegoods it is a dangerous gamble! Lol. It reminds me of going into Target. You need one thing and then you leave with multiple items! I've been to multiple Homegoods, but never felt the need to leave a review until now because of Erin (I might be spelling her name incorrectly, sorry!). I know that employees are "supposed" to ask the customers if they need help looking for anything or have questions. I could feel that Erin was genuine when she asked. There was this bistro table set that I couldn't take my eyes off, but I wasn't 100% sold on it because the chairs seemed too tiny for my male guests. I asked Erin if she has ever seen any man sit on these chairs. She gave me an honest answer and said that when she has seen men sit on the chairs, they looked a little awkward because the chairs were on the smaller side. I really appreciated her honest answer because she could have just lied to get me to buy it. After a few trips around the store, I finally made the decision to go ahead and buy it anyway, which I'm happy I did. Erin helped me load it into my shopping cart too. Thanks...
Read moreHomeGoods was supposed to enter the Hawaii market but pulled out. I've never been to any of their stores but just so happened to be near one, so I headed inside to check them out.
THE STORE: This store is located in the sleepy Center Square Plaza strip mall. They're part of the TJX Company that includes TJ Maxx, Marshalls, HomeSense, Winners, and Sierra. Like others have told me, they sell similar items like sister company TJ Maxx - clothing, household goods, small furniture, toys, etc. The store was clean, pretty organized, with competitive pricing. It's a small footprint so perusing the store was easy. I personally wouldn't shop here as I don't like hunting for things, and I feel that their inventory is "temporary" - like once you find something you like, it won't be available in the future, the main reason why I don't patronize our local TJ Maxx back home. We were in need of a greeting card and was sure they' sell some but they didn't.
OVERALL: To each...
