The Shoppes at Village Square — Local services in Whitpain Township

Over the last 25 years this place has changed so much that sometimes you forget how amazing one store or another could be and maybe even stopped shopping here or there due to thinking it was also going to disappear (the supermarket has changed owners and names and managers more times than anywhere else in the world for me!)

That all aside, it has always had a Supermarket, it has always had a pet shop, toy store, hair salon, pizzeria, place to get liquor, place to get clothes, place to get housing products, a tailor and many many others.

Definitely not the least influential, there is also a Chinese restaurant called Golden Sea that is places at the entry of this building to the Supermarket and it has lasted through all the changes of owner and building lease and never once closed down or changed ownership. The owners are incredibly kind, giving, gracious, and so much else but to try and remain unbiased in my review I'll refrain from discussing one specific store too much since this review is overall about the marketplace and not just one place.

There might seem like no negatives but sadly there is one that means a lot for many of us who choose to, or just must decide to - be frugal. Every store has a higher than average price point, and every store seems to cater to specific crowds. Since the area is well off and this or that with all the fixings, you may run into spending snafus unless you are also well off, or just want to spend more. The higher spending doesn't always translate well but the ingredients can be very incredible and shocking to see in season with a lot of micro farms and indoor conversions locally being sources and the main or sometimes the only producers for more and more products.

The liquor store inside this Supermarket just adds a whole level of "yes!!!" For me and I promise I'm not AA! haha

All in all this will never be a trip wasted and any money you burn is...

This location is the closest Lee's. We've ordered delivery before and paid extra since our house is a little further out. Placed the order on the website it was accepted and then employee called. She was very abrupt, irritated, annoyed 😒 said we can't deliver this you're out of range. I responded with someone has delivered here the past few times. Her response well we can't, too busy. Did you want to cancel your order? COULD'VE BEEN HANDLED DIFFERENTLY. Perhaps at first apologetic that they were short drivers. Regardless the food being very good, I really DIDN'T like the woman that called to gather my information but was EXTREMELY rude on the phone with a customer, not my business that you're busy, it happens all day everyday with food industry.
