I'm not one to write these reviews, but we recently purchased a bed from Ashley Furniture and have had a not so great experience working with them. We ordered a bed to be delivered through the Black Friday deals and had to wait a couple weeks for it to be delivered, no big deal. When we got the bed, it was damaged. Frustrating, but these things happen, and luckily Ashley is willing to send us a replacement for free. However, this is where our experience turns negative. In a text conversation with the store confirming when our new delivery time would be, we asked for Wednesday. Today we received a notification text about our delivery occuring tomorrow on a Tuesday. We didn't want Tuesday as it is a busy day of the week for my wife and I, and a huge inconvience for either of us to take time off work on this day that causes problems. When we called to sort this out, we were basically told: "Sorry, we can't reschedule without asking for a $150+ rescheduling fee." We have it in writing that we asked for Wednesday and that this is a clerical mistake on Ashley Furniture, yet we're expected to still pay a fee in this situation? We decided to make tomorrow work despite the inconvience as we didn't want to pay that high of a fee. Really disappointed that the store put us in this position for an error...
Read moreI have been so impressed with this store! I have their furniture in every room of my house. I usually get the furniture protection as well and it's worth it. I have an end table that I spilled fingernail polish remover on which took off the finish in a small area... and the insurance company told me to keep while they also gave me a brand new one. I had a sofa for close to five years when my granddaughters were bouncing on it roughly and made something come loose. Once again the insurance company told me to keep the sofa and that they would send me a check for slightly less than purchase price, replace it with the same sofa, or give me a reselection credit in the store for the amount I paid for the item. That's the kind of customer service that means a lot. I will continue to purchase my household items there. I love the selection and the staff are very kind and easy-going. I will add that people putting bad reviews probably aren't buying the highest quality items. Just like all stores, there are levels of quality. If you're looking for the cheapest price tag, you'll probably end up with subpar craftsmanship. Ashley carries low, middle, and high quality items. She assured me that I would be happy with their selections. We got there, and she immediately showed me the opposite of what I had asked for. We finally moved on to another item we were looking for, only to be upsold out of the price range we wanted. Then she didn't put our order in in time, so we missed the delivery time. We were under a timeline, which we shared several times, and yet she continued to try to sell us stuff. An hour later, once we knew our order hadn't been put in in time, we left, went to Mattress Hub, got the exact things we needed with no up selling and a better price, and were out the door in 30 minutes so we could get ready for our family gathering. Ashley Furniture lost our sale today and in the future. It should not have been that stressful, especially when we called ahead of time.
