I love this store...but yesterday became very aware of how horrible their customer service is! I am visually impaired. The only reason I mention this is because it plays into my bad experience. I took some gaming equipment in to sell that I no longer use. 2 guys were helping me. I don't know their names, but will address them as "nice guy" and "rude guy". I am aware that when selling to these places, they are wanting the equipment as clean as possible. Which is why I spent 30-45 min before hand making sure everything was clean. Long story short...the nice guy was attempting to speak with me at which point rude guy intervened, started raising his voice and telling me how dirty my equipment was and that it was a "health hazard". I calmly asked what he was talking about and he started making general remarks and I guess pointing to what I had brought in. I told him that I was visually impaired and could not see what it was that he was referring to. The nice guy tried talking to me again and said that if I could take it home and clean it up a little bit better that I could bring it back in and they would buy it. The rude guy interjected again and raised his voice as he told the nice guy, "absolutely not, we are NOT buying any of this". I understood that they want clean equipment and thought that's what I had brought them. I also understand that with me being visually impaired there is the possibility that I missed some spots. However, what I didn't understand was the complete lack of customer service, the extreme rudeness borderline aggression, rude comments and disrespect from the rude guy that works there! I walked out of there almost in tears because of how I was treated! How the rude guy with extreme acne has kept his job thus far is beyond me! Especially if he is treating other customers in the same fashion. (Or maybe it's just disabled females that he treats this way!) I don't go into a store to be belittled by the employees who work there! I will NOT be back to this store ever again! And side note...I left this store and took my items to gamestop. They didn't bat an eye...were kind, friendly and bought everything that I brought in. All I could tell the rude guy at this store was that he was rude and it would serve him well to be kinder to others! At which point, he shrugged his shoulders and walked away. Still in shock at the way I...
Read moreI don’t know why I keep coming here. Maybe it’s the wide selection of merchandise they have. I’ll give them that, But that’s about it. The store is also clean and organized but all that is wiped out the door by the prices. It’s almost like a store ran by scalpers. It’s really unsettling. And we’re taking about Xbox 360 era systems being sold for $150. Im sorry, I remember GameStop selling them for $40-$50 and GameStop has a bad rep as it is. The employees are almost lifeless, attitudes given if you want to SEE anything outside the glass case. A family who didn’t know much about buying cards for their young ones, asked questions as the employee WAS HORRIBLE at explaining and answering their questions. He definitely didn’t wanna be there. Their trade in values are an ABSOLUTE JOKE. And I speak from personal experiences from yesterday, where I brought in VERY RARE, expensive and sought after cards. FULL ARTS, GOLDEN TRAINER CARDS, RAINBOW CARDS, VMAX CARDS! Ect! And they offered me $26! For the whole lot. Without even hesitation I immediately asked for my cards back. For once choose GameStop...
Read moreI'm glad we have something more than GameStop in town. Especially for older games and systems. They have a huge selection of about everything. I know they have to make a dollar, but the prices hurt a bit. eBay can usually net you better prices, but eBay is not local. eBay doesn't let you inspect the game/item more than pics. I'd rather pay these folks a buck more and keep them in jobs.
All in all, a great store if you love gaming. The only real complaint, and it's really opinion, is the temperature inside. Ugh. It was plain hot last time I went. Like, the mall part was ok. Probably 76 or so, but as soon as you walked in you felt it. It was probably 82+ or so. Like, really. I began sweating before I left. Lol my wife walked in, said nope, and walked out. My boy and I braved it. It was a nice day out, too. Not too hot or cold that day. Weird. Probably a fluke day someone was feeling cold and cranked it up. I'll be back regardless. Need some Dreamcast games and maybe a geeky star trek TNG...
