After much consideration I finally decided to consult a surgeon to discuss options for Septorhinoplasty. I had a great experience with Summit right from the start. Their level of professionalism was beyond my expectations. Going into an unfamiliar practice knowing you will be discussing surgery can be overwhelming but I did not find that to be the case at Summit Plastic Surgery and Dermatology. The staff exhibited such a professional and caring demeanor, I felt like I had known them for years. They immediately put me at ease. I think the environment is so comfortable because they really love what they do. Dr. Ricciardelli was just as accommodating as his staff. I had a lot of concerns and he listened and responded to every one of them. He explained all the risks and was very honest about the expectations and the length of the healing process. He guided me through careful consideration and did not rush my decision or try to “sell” surgery to me. He presented a very detailed and accurate description of the procedure and outlined exactly what to expect during recovery. Everything happened just as described and I followed all post-op instructions without any unpleasant surprises. They took great care of me at my appointments after the surgery. Dr. Ricciardelli wasn’t just there to check my nose. He always greeted me with a handshake and a smile and then settled on a seat in a relaxed manner and began to talk to me as if he had nowhere else to be. I felt like I was his only patient and had his undivided attention. I do not regret my decision to allow Summit to perform my procedure. I know I received the best quality of surgery Wilmington has to offer. I was very lucky to have found a skilled surgeon with a caring staff. I am pleased with my results. For anyone considering cosmetic surgery, this team will...
Read moreI had the worst experience here after going to one of the other people that worked here I thought that going to the main man was gonna be great but he messed up so I paid and then waited the 2weeks they asked me to and had to go back to have the mistake corrected I was then charged again for another half syringe of Juvéderm which was another $330 on top of the 11 or 1200 I had already paid the first visit when he busted a blood vessel in my face which a plastic surgeon that knows the face should not have done that it was embarrassing and painful and it left me on even yet again on the side that he couldn’t finish he also had to dissolve filler I already paid for in my cheek because it wasn’t placed properly the first time so that was dissolved filler I never got back then when I went back a third time after several weeks to have it fixed I was told I would have to pay again a third time he claimed it looked fine to him but it wasn’t fine to me and I had already paid when I did complain and I wrote a review and I tried to contact them he tried to say that I was cheap over exaggerating my pictures and that I was trying to get free product I had already paid for the stuff which was ridiculous offensive and he could’ve kept a client for years and years to come by simply just admitting and fixing the mistake I ended up having to go to another Doctor Who went on record saying yes he made a mistake took pictures and has all the records for that I’m glad that my review sparked him and his clients to start all of a sudden posting tons and tons of great reviews about him but all it takes is for him to mess up one time and just say sorry and admit it and fix it I feel disappointed and sad I feel like a doctor that messed up should have taken responsibility and try to make the customer...
Read moreAfter a disastrous experience with Summit Dermatology in Shallotte, I decided to go to Wilmington to an actual doctor rather than a PA. I was told it was too soon to be seen again and had to schedule another visit to be treated for precancer sun spots known as Actinic Keratoses. So, three months later, I get the same diagnosis for a new skin condition as I got in Shallotte: wisdom spots. Really? I'm not a child. I know I'm old. But it isn't age related anyway. It's Seborrheic Keratoses and I have a bunch of them. My real concern though, is being treated for Actinic Keratoses and again, the doctor didn't see one, but pretended she did and gave me a couple of random half azz sprays to appease me. I wasn't appeased. Moreover, when asked about my family history I told them that even though I found my birth family, they were not cooperative sharing information because my birth mother was drugged and raped at age 17 and I am the product of that encounter. It must have made them uncomfortable because Dr Shedolfsky gave me the bum's rush and set my next appointment for a year later. ( I have been treated for AK every 6 months for many years.) For insurance reasons, I had to wait a year to see another Dermatologist and I did so yesterday. There i got the professional, knowledgeable treatment I have been accustomed to getting with concern, compassion, and care.
I also had a concern at my last visit with Dr Shed. My back had developed places that my wife was really concerned about. Dr Shed said, "there os nothing going on with your back that isn't related to years of sun exposure."
Really? Because it cleared up on its own. I'm sorry, but Summit Dermatology is clueless...
