One Belle Bakery — Restaurant in Wilmington

The desserts here are delicious. The only thing I didn't like was a slice of cake I ordered. It was a little on the drier side and the icing was too sweet. But it was still OK. Everything else I've had has been great. An issue I've consistently had is being over charged. So pay attention when you check out. Sometimes, it is a case of them giving me the wrong thing. (Ordered a mini key lime pie for $4, but was given a $3 key lime tart but still charged $4, I thought oh well its just a dollar and an innocent mix up) sometimes it's just an over charge. They have the prices on almost everything so I usually know what to expect. One time I thought I'd be paying about $14, my total was $20. I thought maybe I had added wrong. The other day I ordered a cheesecake bite for $2. This was just a tiny piece of cheesecake. Enough for one bite. I was charged $4 for a mini cheesecake. I brought it up to the girl ringing me up. I said oh I thought the cheesecake bites were $2, she said they were and then looked and saw she rang me up for the wrong item. When she changed it she charged me $2.75 instead of $2. It's just $.75 but if I keep letting them charge me extra each time I go it's going to add up because I love this place! It happens every time I go. I've been a fan of One Belle Bakery for years, so when it came time to choose a bakery for our wedding cake, there was no question—they were my first choice. We did a cake tasting and were blown away by all six flavors we got to try. Each one was delicious, and it was honestly a tough decision narrowing it down because everything was so good.

Our final cake was great, it look beautiful and our guests couldn’t stop raving about how good it tasted—many said they wished they could’ve had more! It was one of the standout parts of our wedding day.

There were just a couple of things that could have been better. Some of the communication via email felt a little slow or drawn out, and I think a quick phone call or in-person meeting might have made the process more efficient. Also, while their Instagram features so many gorgeous, creative cakes, I didn’t realize they prefer to replicate a specific photo you provide rather than work from a general idea or vision you might have for a custom design. I would’ve loved a bit more collaboration on that front.

We absolutely loved our cake and aside from a couple minor issues we would definitely recommend this vendor. I was deployed and had constant contact with Georgia, the manager the whole time. I was able to make payments via email to help alleviate the cost of the wedding. I will say my husband was extremely disappointed because in the movies you see people having a taste of a whole cake slice, which is not the case here. But the cake flavors are delicious and they are very creative with their designs. The cake was delivered on time. Our only complaint is that apparently cake stands are a very expensive commodity. we were told the week of that it would have to be returned but our wedding was being held over memorial day weekend and we were flying immediately out for a honeymoon. And almost all of our guest had flown in or drove in for the weekend. Luckily Georgia was very flexible in allowing us to mail it back upon our return especially after she learned our venue had lost one of my wedding dresses. But even now it’s still an issue because we are trying to find out where the stand got delivered to. Overall, we highly recommend this vendor for any cake need.
