Potbelly — Restaurant in Wilmington

My wife and I have absolutely loved this place from the first time we went here but lately it has taken a dive. My wife brought sandwiches home for dinner the other night. I had ordered the Mama's Meatball and couldn't finish eating it because there was absolutely no marinara sauce on it. Today we ate lunch ordering two Wrecks to eat there, as well as a Pizza Melt and Mama's Meatball to take home. On both Wrecks the paper covering was still on the slices of ham. When I ordered the meatball I specifically asked to make sure they put marinara on it. Unfortunately, I just opened it up to heat in the oven and found vurtually no marinara sauce on it. Attached are photos of the meatball sandwich. I think we will be taking a break from eating Potbelly sandwiches. Update to previous review: After five months, we decided to try again. We have only eaten there a few times since. Unfortunately, tonight solidified my not eating at this particular location anymore. The time before this my wife ordered the Pizza Melt and it had more than enough marinara on it. Once again, I ordered the Mama's Meatball, but this time I asked for extra marina, as evidenced in the attached pictures, just to be safe. The result was no different than the other times. My first time here. Got an ad on instagram that they will be doing BOGO. Went in-store and got told that I had to order online which was no problem at all. The staff was very friendly. My order was estimated to be ready at 2:46pm and while I waited for 2:46pm to hit, I noticed that the store was definitely not busy. A few orders here and there but definitely not a rush at all. Currently it’s 3:00pm and my food is still not ready. It’s been over half an hour for the food to be ready and it’s still not. Just for those who are doing online orders, make sure to order and hour in advance if you don’t wanna wait.

Update: Big shout out to Brent for reaching about the issue. My order was actually finished after about 4 minutes of them receiving the order. However, there was some miscommunication between the staff and I which ended up resulting the 30 minute wait. Although my initial experience wasn't be best, but given the fact that the management team took the time out of their day to give me a call to clear up the miscommunication, I will say customer service is out the roof. The sandwich itself was also very good. I requested for light mayo and oil and my requested was throughly followed. Pretty solid place to stop for lunch...

My wife and decided to try Potbelly Sandwich shop as we were in the area. We ordered a Wreck sandwich which was a generous 12 inches. The Wreck consists of a base of: Roast turkey, smoked ham, roast beef, salami and Swiss. The sandwich is then customized with whatever toppings you desire. Overall it was a good sandwich. Nothing amazing or outstanding but good nonetheless. I only have two complaints regarding the sub. One, I did not see vinegar as an option on the board. I asked specifically for oil and vinegar, a standard on many types of subs. There was no vinegar on the sub which flattened the taste profile somewhat. I do not understand why that is not an option there. Two, the mayonnaise and mustard were put on to generously and as a result made a mess and overpowered the meats and veggies.During our visit the ice machine for the fountain drinks did not have any ice available. The staff was very friendly and polite and the interior is kept very clean. A nice touch is the universal charging cables...
