Dollar General — Local services in Winfield

I hate to leave a bad review bc I personally know most of the staff, and they’re all super friendly & helpful..with the exception of one particular employee I don’t know personally..but that’s a different story. I love that they’ve rearranged the store and added the huge frozen food section, more reason for me to avoid Walmart :). But my question is, why after rearranging the store with the intentions of a better shopping selection & experience for customers, does it seem more closed in? The isles were already not wide enough for two ppl to walk pass each-other, but now the isles are even MORE narrow, and there’s ALWAYSSSSS large carts of inventory parked EVERYWHERE to the point you can no longer even attempt to reach what you’re looking for. Everything’s ALWAYS cluttered, and the one rude employee will always look at you crazy if you even think about asking her to move one of the carts out of the way. It looks like the truck just ran every single second of every single day in this store. I feel like I’m only saying what everyone else who shops at this store is thinking, but not bold enough to say, lol. They need to hire someone with a serious OCD issue who can go in there with a plan, completely rearrange this store AGAIN, FIRE that rude/lazy employee, and replace her with someone who does more than just show up. The three stars I did give, are strictly for the friendly employees whom I know personally, and see sweating & breaking their backs to stock/run back & forth to the counter every single time I go in there. They need a RAISE, they need to each be assigned to ONE JOB, then maybe they could keep the decent employees who actually want to work. I, myself, wouldn’t be in there running around like a chicken with my head cut off either, for pennies over minimum...

The employees and staff here are very friendly, as well as helpful. The self-serve checkout still does not accept cash like the other nearby locations self-serve checkouts so it only helps out debit/credit card users. They are in need of several upgrades on their electronic softwares, etc. It is still a great location, with great employees and a great atmosphere. It also has a clean restroom. The stock options need a little more attention, as their seem to be several complaints of stock items not being sent to this store and they are out-of-stock in several regularly stocked items throughout the store. This Dollar General in my opinion is about the best that I have shopped at compared to a few other Dollar Generals. At least you can move around with a shopping cart and stock isn't piled in the middle of the floors. They also in my opinion seem to carry the items that are listed in their add. Lastly most of the staff always seems helpful and friendly. My only complaint is... I wish they had...
