This is a fun place to go swimming and take your family for a nice day at the pool. There's a separate part for the littles to go so they can have a good time too. (Infants that are able to sit up without help & toddlers.) There are toys that they can play on and ones that squirt water when I was there the last time. The water isn't very deep in that area, but of course parents still need to supervise their children no matter what part of the pool that they're playing or swimming in.
If they're old enough to go here without a parent, I feel that they should always use the "buddy system" and never swim alone. On the opposite side is where you'll find the big pool. As you walk down an incline, the water gets deeper. I would suggest wearing swim shoes because on the bottom of that part of the pool, they have added a non slip rough material to keep people from slipping and falling. It can easily scratch up your feet or legs.
There's a slide and a diving board at the deep end. They do provide some lounge chairs for tanning. If you'd like one of these to lay on, it's on a first come basis, so you better get there early if you want one. They also have a concession stand if you get hungry. I'm not sure if they allow someone to bring in their own food and drinks.
I've added a side note of my own experience and really encourage parents to enroll their children in swimming lessons or teach them how to swim. They will love water instead of being afraid of it, and learn how to keep from drowning.
*When both of my children were about six months old, I took them to the pool for the very first time. (There's exactly eight years age difference between the two.) Then every summer after that we would go swimming. I taught them both how to swim, so now they love being in the water. When they were young, I would say they were like little fish because they loved the water so much. We would also go to the lake to swim or fish too. They're adults and still love the water. It doesn't make any difference whether they're swimming at the pool, lake, or fishing from a boat, as long as it has something to do in or on the water.
Last summer my daughter enrolled my three year old grandson in swimming lessons. She registered him through the Winfield Recreation Center, and he had a blast! She's also had him in the pool or lake since he was about six months old too.
I'm very happy that I was able to pass my love of the water, swimming, and fishing onto my children. My daughter is passing on that same love to her own child. I'm certain my son will too when he has his children.

Read more$3.75 to get in! And just because there is a couple slides? A bit much. And buying coupons in larger amounts does not really help much. I would like to go swimming 4/5 days a week but at that price I can't afford....that's $75 a month! I've paid for season passes for the WHOLE summer for that price, and that was for a family. SEASON PASSES please and I might come more often. Plenty of chairs to go around for everyone. Grounds are clean. Children under the age of 12 for sure talking about nasty things. What looked to be a young girl around 9 talking about boyfriend's....at least the pool is big enough to not get trampled by kids. And ladies/girls...why is it necessary to do your hair and makeup and be...
Read moreA good pool except for the price. Before they opened, you could get a season pass for the whole family at a very affordable price (20.00) for family pass. You were doing an activity together. Also it gave the kids somewhere to be that was safe and keeping them out of trouble. There is nothing affordable about it. It's sad that most kids in the Winfield area won't have fond memories of the pool as adults. Nothing affordable about the price to...
