The following correspondence took place at around 1:15 AM on Thursday, May 30th 2024 (about 30 minutes ago)
I came to this establishment as I normally do after work. I had by far the worst experience that I've ever had at any Wawa with a manager named Alejandra. Quite ironic considering my father's name is Alejandro and I naturally have good faith in people named "Alex". After a long shift I entered this Wawa and ordered two egg and cheddar melt subs (as I normally do) because I haven't eaten in several hours. I place my order on the computer screen located in the establishment, grab a cold beer from the cooler, and wait in line to pay at the register. After having a pleasant interaction with a young black gentleman with glasses (Alejandra wouldn't let me get his name when it was all said and done.) She told him to "wait in the office for her" while he was doing a very good job of taking care of his customers. Anyways, after I paid, I waited in line for my two subs and in a short amount of time, Alejandra placed one bowl in the food pick up window. She called out a number and got back to work. It's possible that it was my number that she called, (631) but I didn't expect to see a bowl as I ordered two subs so I kept on about my business. About a minute later she said "sir are you waiting on anything else?" Given the fact that my career is legal counsel, I'll now waste my time to recall the conversation between the two of us. Me: Ma'am that's not my order. Alejandra: Aren't you 631? Me: Yes, but I ordered two egg and cheese melts, this is not that. Alejandra: Well we don't have bread tonight, Me: Don't you think the computer should inform me if that's the case? It's kind of crazy that I have to be informed of that, after I make my purchase. Alejandra: Well that's not my problem sir. Me: I'm sorry, so it should be mine? What kind of sense does that make? Wouldn't it be better if the computer stated that, so I don't have to waste my time and money? Alejandra: Well it doesn't matter. We don't have bread tonight. (Mind you, I wasn't even offered two bowls like I paid for in sandwiches. I was given one and was basically told to step off.) The young black dude with the glasses came over genuinely concerned. Young black dude with glasses: "Hey is everything okay?" Alejandra started yelling and being EXTREMELY unprofessional. I immediately saw that he had a level head and started talking to him exclusively. Me: "Brother; she tried telling me that this is what I ordered when it wasn't. When I doubled down on the fact that what she said I ordered wasn't what I ordered, she gave me the implication that not only it wasn't her fault, it was mine." The young man said simply "Come on over here so I can get you your refund, as we don't have bread this evening." I thanked him and walked with him back to the register while explaining to him "Hey, I don't want anyone to get in trouble, but that's just wrong how I was treated for this quote unquote misunderstanding". That's when Alejandra told him to go to the office and wait for her. There's no doubt in my mind that she's connected to people in high places within that company. Why else would she feel like treating people the way she treated me, was the right thing to do. The last thing she said to me before I left was "You're now banned and no longer allowed to come to this Wawa". That's something else, considering I've spent thousands of dollars in this establishment over the past year alone. Even if nothing comes of it, I will be forwarding this message to corporate. Wawa is a wonderful place where it's cost effective that people get what they need. Someone like Alejandra is a cancer that doesn't belong...
Read moreI love Wawa and always put Gas at Wawa, I often buy food from Wawa. I visit Wawa on a daily basis. But all that changed today because of an incident happened today at this store. I payed for food and prepaid gas. My car was already packed at the pump so all I did was pay and the girl behind the desk told me she had authorized the pump. I picked up the food and proceeded to the pump. The pump did not dispense the paid for gas, it was asking for me to make another payment. I went back inside to report and thought this would be resolved quickly but everything went downhill. The girl who initially authorized was busy so she asked the girl on the opposite register to help. The new cashier instead of helping me started to interrogate me.She would use such words like, 'but you said', 'mam I cannot find your transaction' 'are you sure you made payment' 'how come I cannot find your transaction'. When she found the transaction, she accused me of not putting the pump properly. She asked if I am not sure I had already put gas and was trying to do it again. I asked if she could come to the pump and help and show me what she meant. She rudely told me that is not her job she is not supposed to help at the pump. She then called someone who she said was the manager. This second lady was polite and actually went with me to the pump. She found I had been telling the truth after all and there was something wrong with the pump. She solved the problem but I had already lost 20 mins and treated so badly it was no solace. The whole process took 20mins mostly because of the rude cashier. I will never get those 20 mins back and left really with a bad feeling I have spent thousands at Wawa, for this cashier to accuse me of trying to steal a $15 gas and waste my 20 mins is very insulting. You have a bad apple at this gas station, I do not know her name but she is thin medium height and snappy, everyone else here is good but she is as bad as it gets when it comes to customer service and I cannot imagine how many customers she has...
Read moreI frequent this store as I live very close by. The staff is always friendly and I’ve never had any issue with food or not being able to get what I need. But lately, the beggars who hang out in the front of the store and by the gas pumps have become a real problem. Every time I pull up to the store or to the pump, I’m approached and asked for money. Some days, you’ll see several of them circling the parking lot and around the gas pumps. And please, don’t get me wrong. I understand the struggle and I truly don’t mind sparing a few dollars when I can. The problem is how aggressive these folks are becoming. On Christmas Day I stopped in for gas on my way out of town. A man immediately approached me at the pump and asked for money. I told him the truth. I had no cash. He went on to tell me there was a free ATM inside the store and I could go get him some cash. I had to tell him no twice. Then I went to fill up my tires with air and he approached again. Asking if he can fill them for me for money. This had me so uncomfortable I was shaking. On Monday, I was back getting gas again and I was approached almost before I could get out of my car to get to the pump by a female with same pitch. This is just two instances that have happened recently. This has been an issue for quite some time. I know that Wawa can’t control every situation but I feel like there should be something done to keep customers from feeling...
