Central Transfer Station MSW — Local services in Winter Springs

Terrible customer service and unreliable. As others have posted literally every person I saw in line with me was turned away.

I had a small trailer with some yard items and was also turned away. I was removing items from an elderly clients property and was forced to take it back to my house.

I politely tried to talk with the woman at the window and was immediately interrupted and told I was wrong. I pulled up the Seminole County Website to show her the list of accepted items and was told it was the wrong website and wrong location- I proved to her it was the correct website and she refused to identify a single item that I had that was prohibited. Everything I had was on the “accepted” list and she told me the official website is wrong.

I then simply asked “can you just show me what here is not accepted” and she cut me off, said she couldn’t help me, sorry.

Avoid. I will do the same. Don’t depend on the website for hours or accurate...

I just moved to the area and decided to drop off my moving supplies for recycling (boxes, paper, etc.). The staff was mostly friendly, with the exception of the person who gave me subpar instructions on where to go. Once I figured that out and got to the right area, I was basically disgusted with the entire scenario. Everything had a layer of grime over it and made my skin crawl. There were filthy birds eating trash everywhere. I would have taken photos, but I tried to touch as few things as possible. After emptying my car (probably incorrectly) and getting out of there as soon as possible, I doused myself in hand sanitizer and went home to shower immediately. I realize this is a dump, so I shouldn’t have been surprised at what I found. However, I have been to similar centers in other cities that were much cleaner and organized. The Geneva landfill is the place to go ! This ''transfer '' station transfers what ? Everything you bring in cannot be dropped off ! It also seems that the county has a habit of hiring people who have awful personal lives so they take it out on the customer ! Reading these comments I can see that many other Seminole County Tax Cattle feel the same ! The place reminds me of a Sanford City Commission meeting .....nothing getting done and everyone blaming the people who pay the taxes that in turn pay them ! The only other county / city black hole of an operation that I can compare this to is the Sanford Water Department ! Price keeps going up and I'm using the water less and less . No wonder people have tires and paint / chemical agents laying around . I gave them a one because the place is open and gives the appearance of work...
