Seminole County has what they call a “Central Transfer Station” located in Longwood, Florida. It’s the perfect place for residents of Seminole County to go for recycling.
When I discovered this place I was surprised as to how organized it is and how friendly everyone is!
You can drop off everything from that old broken TV or computer to motor oil, antifreeze and house paints. They take batteries (except alkaline batteries) and those old tires that seem to always stack up in the backyard! LoL!
Tires have a fee to drop them off but it’s only a dollar per tire! ($1.00 +tax) This place is definitely right up your alley if you want to do your part and recycle and properly discard items and liquids that can’t be taken by your cities curb side trucks!
Interestingly enough, some 80% of all solid waste generated in Seminole County is delivered to the Central Transfer Station to be redirected to the appropriate disposal or recycling facility.
The Address is:
1950 State Road 419 Longwood, FL 32750
Hours Monday–Saturday, 7:30a.m.–5:30p.m.

Read moreToday was the second time this month that half of my yard trash has been picked up. I put out the Max 15 items each week I make sure each bag, can or bundle meets the requirements of Seminole county. However, not only one occurrence but also today being the second time I’ve had to call the supervisor to come out to my house and tell me they’ll come back and get it. The first time they never made it back who knows if they will this time. This is ridiculous and unprofessional of yard waste employees. I use the most expensive contractor bags from Lowe’s the nicest cans on wheels the most expensive twine yet they still don’t take everything at the curb. They are paid by tax payers and therefor should do their job accordingly, if they can’t these employees should be fired. I should not have to deal with this time and time again when all I am trying to do is clean up my yard and dispose of the yard waste according to the...
Read moreI took 2 old tires there expecting to pay one dollar per tire. The price must have changed. Today they were very helpful, but I was charged $6 for two tires to have them take the tires off my hands. I tried putting them out to the curb for trash pickup. But they did not take them. This was the only way I could get them off my hands. I'm grateful that there was a place for me to responsibly dispose of them. Thanks so much for providing the service that allows us to get rid...
