Winterville Watermelon Festival — Local services in Winterville

Very good to go during the summer time of year. Each year they have different bands they have Bunches of vendors so you can see anywhere from funnel cakes to hot dogs hamburgers Pizza strombolis tacos fried snicker bars all kinds of fried snacks and more. Last year they had Me-TV you never can tell what kind of Free goodies you may leave with. It's a 3 day event so plan for there to be lots of different things to do each day. This event has been going on for years and will continue to be a destination must see event. Very child friendly and family friendly! Out of the 10 times I have been there we have really enjoyed ourselves and plan on continuing to go for many more years to come! I like that there's always something new each and every year. Be aware that it can get very hot, and muggy so we're light color clothing try to wear a sun hat and sun screen. But more than anything make sure to come out and enjoy yourself, anyone and everyone is welcome to come! By the way parking may be a little hectic but don't fret the fire department is all around plus Police department to point you in the right direction! If you need any help you can always reach out call the winterville Town Hall. But all said and done please come out and have a good time with your family...

Always love this festival & try every year to go...I think it's really great how they've tried to have it free for the past 4 or 5 years but still had some famous great singers perform! 💖 This year 2018 they had Scotty McCreery & had to charge admission of $10 advanced & $20 day of. That was ok & wasn't so bad but I would love to know if it was because of his high fee or the committee just decided to start back charging!! If it because his fee is high I wouldn't feel the same about him cause this is his HOME STATE!! { That's just my opinion } In another sense if it's because of committee then just my opinion it looked like to much trouble & aggravation ! They had to close off the concert from the other part of festival but everyone can hear the music anyway..I just didn't care for it.. I like when it's all open! Other than 2018 I give it 5 stars but going to give it 3 unless they change everything back SORRY...cause this really is my favorite...

This is nice if you are looking for an opportunity to ride a ferris wheel or to eat some Fair food. This is not the same Festival from years past. 2022 lacked the energy from the years past. In the past some Talent from R&B artists were offered for the festival. This year was different. Although the featured country artist for the Saturday concert was popular, I do not feel that the festival advertised this event enough. Attendance was poor. Beer was offered. But, It could only be purchased inside the concert venue. The Dogwood Festival in Farmville would allow coolers in the concert area. Watermelon Festival does not. Hopefully next year...
