I am not sure how this store has stayed in business for so long. I have two children who like both anime and DND so you would think that this would be the perfect place to shop with them. Overall the store has unique items and I truly wish I could say that I liked this store, however; the owner is straight up nasty. We have gone into the store maybe 5 times and each time we do the owner, sneers and glares at us. Never once have we been greeted. The owner is snippy and makes you feel like a criminal by glaring at you the entire time. In addition to that my daughter had asked a question and gotten a snappy response back and was practically yelled at for asking about a return. We had a receipt from their store and they said they did not carry that particular item. It's a cute shop with cute merchandise but that is sadly overshadowed by the poor customer service that we have repeatedly received. If this had been a one time thing I would have let it go, but the repetitive bad service warrants this bad review. I went in there yesterday around noon with my kids, the lady working behind the register was very rude. I didn’t hear her greet us and I could tell she wasn’t happy that the kids were in the store. They weren’t acting out they were just looking around. My 7 year old picked up a toy and said, “excuse me, how much is this?” And she very rudely told him to look at the price tag. It wasn’t busy when we initially walked in, we were the only ones in there at the time. I would understand if it was swamped. But regardless, he’s a child, and he asked her very politely how much the item was. She shouldn’t be working at a store like this if you don’t like children. My mother recently moved to Woodstock and I check this cute little gem out and I loved it. Every time they hold a festival in the square I come here and buy a few books. I love the LBGTQ section of the books they have. Very good selection. Very great customer service. I read on here that some people may have felt different but each time I have been in the store I felt it was a great environment that was welcoming for all. There is always a nice lady that is working when I’m there at the counter area. She is great to have a little chat with and she even told me the book I got just got released.
