We went to Antigua on Labor Day, we only saw 1 waitress on the floor/bar so we expected it to be a little longer wait, even though we were the only table inside. It was our first time here, but the waitress seemed very unfriendly. The whole time we were there she checked in maybe 2 times with us. Mind you, it wasn’t busy. We found a hair in our salsa for our chips. My husband asked for a torta with no guacamole or mayo, when he tried to give it back because it had both, the waitress looked annoyed. They finally brought a “new one back” and it was the same just with less of it since they scraped it off. When my husband tried to explain again, she yelled “it’ll take long to remake” when it wasn’t our fault the kitchen got it wrong. (Mind you the rest of the table was almost done with their own meals by then). Even if it wasn’t her fault, “the customer is always right”, and we aren’t expected to be treated like royalty but we do expect good service for food we are buying. My husband ended up not getting anything after that since we had drove 1 hour just to be treated like this. She didn’t even say thank you when we asked for the check. Didn’t look twice to make sure we had everything or if we needed boxes. Very disappointed on the food also, flavorless and just didn’t seem appealing. I did think prices were a little high for the quality. We looked at the reviews and seemed like a good new spot to try, but very disappointed and just wasn’t what we were expecting after so many good reviews. Will definitely be taking my...
Read moreLet me start by saying this is hands down the best Mexican restaurant in and around McHenry in my opinion. I have never had a bad meal from any one of their locations. The staff and service is exceptional every time my family and I visit, that is why I’m still giving them 5 stars after a disappointing visit today.
I visited the Woodstock location today very close to opening time for lunch (which may have been my fault) and ordered 6 tamales rice and beans and it came out to around $30 bucks. I was disappointed to get home ready to eat just to realize I got some two day old possibly 3 day old tamales. I hope they can see this review and use it as constructive information and not some much a criticism on their businesses. I love their food and want them to stay around for a very long time so hopefully they can take some customer feedback and get better in this area. I do want to say the food was hot and still good but I hope they can make some adjustments to keep some of the items fresh like the tamales for...
Read moreMy wife ordered a margarita with her meal. First they brought it out with chili mix on the rim. She sent it back to have salt put on it. As she took her first drink she noticed that the glass rim was shattered. Luckily she did not drink from that side and avoided being cut. We are not sure if the glass shards were in the glass. We sent it back a third time until we got a glass that was not a danger and had salt on it. Although they are a mexican restaurant they were out of rice, so they gave us french fries instead. When it came time to pay I thought they should at least adjust something for the broken glass experience, but they charged us full price. I won't be going back to this restaurant again. I sent an email to their corporate office the day it happened and never heard back from anyone. This was at their...
