The Computer Guy C.R.C. — Local services in Woodstock

Brought my laptop in to get a power jack repaired, was returned to me with the GPU completely fried (was working prior to taking it to him), and the joint for the screen totally jacked up so now I have to hold that down when opening/closing the screen. Filed a complaint with the BBB, waiting for the outcome. $1,600 laptop brought in for a $75 repair, left with a $400+ repair needing to be done. Much like a previously posted review on yelp, he called me over the course of 2 days with more and more problems found. First grommets loose that he needed to glue in, then failing to boot, then fried gpu, then screen not staying attached. Further problems have been occurring since the "repair", left side of the keyboard is failing, lost all control of my fan speed, errors on bootup related to sata not detecting my boot drive, blue screen of death related to processor failing to output to 2nd screen. He's been not responding the the BBB complaint I've filed. Does not deserve to be in business. Do not recommend! Avoid at all costs!

As he responded to the BBB, a whole month past the time he was supposed to, he looked up my previous name, and harassed me in his letter, misgendered me, and lied...

I told him I did not have a lot of money in that my computer was crashing and I need to stream and play a various number of games, and I told him I don't have much money and he said, I could fix it for a 100 and then changed his mind after getting the pc and said maybe 150. If not, it's fine and he said, I got you, I understand hard times and then I get my computer back and says, well, you only had a $100 budget when it's not up and working. Then when you get says. Robert SAVED Christmas for my son. I tried building a gaming PC from scratch for my son for Christmas and ended up bending a few pins on the CPU when installing it to the MB. I called him cold on the 23rd and he told me to bring it in. in 20 mins he fixed the bent pins, seated the CPU, and booted to bios to verify. After going home and installing the MB in the case and setting up windows I was greeted with the Bitlocker kiss of death. after 3 hrs of wanting to kill myself searching for solutions, i called him. I took it back to him AFTER HE HAD CLOSED, and he fixed it in 30 mins. This guy RULES! Best repair shop...
