I would like to recommend this place, but when they came out to fix my AC unit, the system was still frozen. The repairman could not do anything, charged me a $125 service fee, and went to his next appointment. When calling to reschedule, they wanted to charge me an extra $125 to come and fix the unit the next day. In my opinion, a service call should go from problem to service to solution. It was disappointing to have to call and get special permission to not have to pay for the service fee for the next day. Although they did a nice job fixing the AC the next day, the disappointment and frustration of having to call and have them cancel the extra $125 service fee makes me unable to recommend them.
In response to your response, I would say that I cannot give you a five star review because I did not knowingly have my unit on. I needed help, which is why I called for service. In my opinion that is the start of the service. The service call should be considered finished when the problem is solved- from beginning to end. One service fee and all the combined work on the final bill. I have no problem paying a service call or for the all the work. My one issue is that when I called you for help you started the service, which I paid, and then wanted to charge to continue the service the next day when the job was not done/serviced. I did not enjoy having to argue for the service call to be waived when I unknowingly had the unit on. I am not an argumentative person and to have to call and ask for the change was frustrating and out of character. I would not want others to have that experience either, as I think it should all be part of one service, hence the low review.
Thank you for your response and consideration for making the experience better for future customers. I really just hope you consider this perspective with future...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe hired Woodstock Heating and Cooling to install a new cooling and heating system. Eric (Owner WH&C) was the first of five quotes/bids we received. By far, they were not the cheapest and suggested a āHeat Pumpā instead of a conventional air conditioner and I was not too keen on the idea. Eric not only knows the HVAC business but he is also an educator and helped us understand the benefits of Heat Pump operation. After scrutinizing all bids, we elected to go with āWH&Cā mainly because, they were the only ones that did the calculations on supply & return air flow which showed we did not have enough return air flow. The install team were all business and very efficient at their jobs. We were amazed at how quickly the old system was removed and the new put into place. Once completed, they cleaned their work areas and hauled away the old system. One of the installers, āKCā stayed afterwards to help us understand the operation of the new system. āKCā was very thorough and didnāt mind going over a few times to make sure we understood - also gave us the name of their āanswer manā senior technician āGregā to help us with any questions down the road. All in all, we are very happy with the outcome, choosing Woodstock Heating and Cooling and for Eric educating us on the benefits of the heat pump system. We are amazed at how quiet the operation of the complete system. We highly recommend this company. Thanks again to the whole...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUpdate/9/8/25 Had Woodstock out for the fall maintenance. Always a good experience. Sam came today, he was an experienced, courteous professional. It's all good. Here is my original review from 2022 I highly recommend this company. I came upon them when I saw a job they did ( tankless water heater) at a friends and was impressed with how it looked. She also highly recommended them. Starting with Thomas who came and gave the estimate. He was polite, professional and courteous. His estimate which we received a day or so later was fair. They did quite a bit of work because we had our hot water heater relocated and installed an air conditioning unit outside and connected to our existing furnace. Scott and his son were the 2 men who came and did the actual work. Also professional and courteous, Scott was not flustered when it was realized that our thermostat would not work with the air conditioner and the thermostat needed to be moved. He gave us our options ( that section of our house was built in 1860) and worked it out. Upon leaving, they gave us some small gifts of 6 pk of water, gift card from a choice of local merchants and a jar opener- which we actually need. š When does that ever happen any more? Never. I felt the personal treatment from this company. Very happy. Thanks again,...
