Edit: Stouts came out and fixed all the issues we were having by completely replacing everything and doing it all correctly this time free of charge. We appreciate the accountability and support!
We’ve used stouts for two of our houses carpets’ and had no major complaints besides taking much longer than anticipated. But this last house we also had LVP installed. We were really disappointed with the quality of work done on our LVP flooring. The trim was cut in odd ways and not fitting in spots too short with gaps. Also multiple pieces of the transition strips fell off because they were poorly glues on. Also, From the start, there were noticeable soft spots and divots when walking across the floors. Now, just two years later, the planks are separating and we’re seeing significant gaps throughout.
We also had the laundry room done in LVP and they initially covered over the floor drain completely. When we brought it to their attention, they came back and “fixed it” — or so we thought. Recently, after a minor water spill sat on the floor with nowhere to drain, we discovered that they had simply glued a drain cover onto the LVP after drilling a few holes through the LVP where he said the drain was covered at. We ended up tearing up the flooring ourselves, only to find the cover wasn’t even aligned with the actual drain. Even worse, we found cardboard stuffed underneath the LVP, where the floor should have been properly leveled. So any water that did drain into wherever they drilled those holes is just soaking into cardboard.. I will say they offered us a small amount of money back two years ago when we were unhappy with the trim and time frame, but now the floors are falling apart and the drain hole issue, no little amount of money given will fix that frustration.
Overall, we’re frustrated by the shortcuts and lack of proper craftsmanship. We expected...
Read moreEDIT owner called yesterday and couldn’t have been nicer. He is doing his best to make this situation right. I would buy from them again, but there would be a lengthy discussion as to who is going to do the install.**
We purchased nice, good quality carpet at a very good price...in my opinion. The young man that helped was was very nice, patient and knowledgeable. I would recommend purchasing from Stour's. Then there is the install...dreadful. The guy that showed up said he should have 2 helpers, but one was sick and the other hit by the carpet van...I wish I were joking. So, now we have one person to do a job that usually has 3 guys. He charged us more than what was quoted on our receipt and was annoyed when he asked for cash and we didn't give him the full amount in cash. We were told there would be left over carpet from our remnant. He said there was nothing. Somehow there was a large piece in the driveway that appeared to folded in the back of the van. I would have liked to have a swatch. Once we looked closer after he left, smaller areas seem loose against the walls. Also, a separate area has no pad and was just cut and thrown down. We could have done that ourselves. I called Stout's a week ago and our sales guy was off. I spoke to another sales person, who was very nice and said a manager would call me in a day or two...no call and it's a week later. He did ask if we would like the installer to come back and do "repairs". I told him, there is no way my husband would let him on our property. He said that wasn't the first time he'd heard that. If that's the case, why are they still...
Read moreWe have used Stout's a few times before and always have be treated amazing! Today we stopped just for a remnant. Anthony, was our guy that helped us. When he approached us he asked how we were doing. My husband told him its been a rough 2 days as we had to put our cat, Coconut, down last night and then early this am, our dog, Lilly, passed away. Coconut was a stray we had for a few months. We had to trap her and she wasn't into affection much but she was still our girl. Lilly, we had for 3 years. Prior to that, she was his moms dog and she passed away from cancer 3 years ago. We took Lilly as Noone else wanted her. There is no way we would leave her go to a shelter and be so scared and confused. Prior to that, she was my husbands dad's dog and he took her everywhere. So, Lilly, was his last living piece of his mom and dad. So it has been rough to say the least. Anthony had walked away a few mins and when he came back we asked how much on a few different remnants. He said he had told his boss about our bad happenings and said that whatever we picked, was free. My husband and I both had tears in our eyes. THANK YOU STOUTS AND ANTHONY. You made our day better and we thank you so much! We cannot thank you...
