I actually like the grocery store overall but the older gentleman that works in the self checkout is obviously racist. I have spoken to this man twice looking him dead in his face and he completely ignored me yet made sure to be overly helpful to white customers (on multiple occasions) that didnât even ask for assistance. Not to mention the way he addresses other minority customers. He does not do a good job hiding his feelings.    Read moreThere are still places where people are respectful, helpful and polite. This is one of them. Small town charm, where people still smile, and say hello. It's nothing to strike up a conversation with a complete stranger because people are just friendly. They still have manners and will say excuse me if they need to pass you in the aisle. The staff also doesn't act like it gets on their nerves to help you find something. You don't get that in the big box stores. Here, they genuinely want to help and they do it with a smile. I just love this place. It reminds me of how I came up and it warms my heart. Keep it up...

With that said, if I were comparing this store with grocery stores in Raleigh or other bigger cities in NC, I probably would have gone three stars. The parking lot and the shopping center in general need a makeover badly. The customer service here was excellent. The store is very nice for a Carlie Cs. The produce section is an entire large room that is essentially an enclosed fridge. The hot bar looks and smells good. The desserts are excellent. This is a must-try just for the desserts.
