If you're looking for an immersive safari experience in Israel, the Safari Park in Ramat Gan is a must-visit. As someone who had never been to a safari before, I had a general understanding of what to expect thanks to YouTube videos - but this experience was infinitely better than I could have imagined.
Driving your car through the park and hitting the brakes when zebras cross the road is an incredible experience that you won't soon forget. The lions' zone is particularly impressive, with electrified fences and huge gates that make you feel like you're in a scene straight out of a Jurassic Park movie.
The hippos in the lake are equally awe-inspiring, though I have to admit that I panicked a bit when they started moving! Inside the safari park, there's also a wonderful zoo with all kinds of fascinating species to explore. Throughout the park, I was impressed by how much the Safari administration has done for the animals and endangered species - they definitely earned my respect.
When visiting the park, I truly felt like a visitor in a land of animals. It's an incredibly immersive experience that I highly recommend to anyone, especially families with kids. Just make sure to buy tickets online in advance to take advantage of the discount for Ramat Gan and Tel Aviv citizens.
Overall, the Safari Park in Ramat Gan is an incredible experience that everyone should try at least once. It's a great way to connect with nature and learn more about the incredible animals that inhabit our planet.

We've had a great day out with my neices and nephew at the Safari in Ramat Gan. Was lovely driving around the open space seeing the wildlife. Was a bit disappointing for the kids when we've got to the lions area as the lions were resting in the high grass and far from the road so all the kids could see was one of the lion's leg popping out of the grass... And they were waiting to see lions... In the zoo part we've had great fun but mainly because we rented a golf cart. Which was not cheap. But was the only way for 4 years old to see the full zoo which is massive. They wouldn't be able to walk it all without getting exhausted at the end. It's a beautiful zoo with lots of animals from all over the world. Was great for the kids (I was extremely impressed by Yossi the elephant! I mean I saw elephants in Thailand, this one was twice if not triple their size! He was huge!). There was a lovey picnic zone there, and if you didn't pack your lunch there was an Italian restaurant on the premesis too. I gave it 4 starts and not 5 as I think the golf carts should be cheaper or even combined with the entrance ticket, at least for families with young children or people with mobility problems (my mom has a broken leg and that's the only reason we rented this cart but otherwise we would walk it all not realising how big it is and the kids would have missed out on a lot of areas...) Highly recommend to visit, at any age, but especially with children.

Although the drive-through part of the park was lovely (with relatively few people stopping to feed sandwiches and Bamba to the animals), the rest of the zoo was horrifying. The animals were all begging for food and people had backpacks full of snacks that they had brought specifically to feed them. In this picture you see the bears begging for food and food wrappers down in the water in the enclosure. The woman in the picture threw them a sandwich and then threatened violence to the zoo employee who asked her to stop. I personally saw at least 10 different people feeding animals even though there are signs everywhere that it's forbidden. If the zoo can't keep people under control and keep the animals safe they should close down. From a visitor perspective, something like 50% of the zoo patrons were smoking cigarettes, which is very problematic when it's crowded. Also, zoo visitors can rent golf carts and drive around, so it's not really safe to let your little kids run free or they risk being run over.

This zoo is also a safari.
You start the amazing experience driving your car through the animals while they are running free, rhinos, gazelles, hippos, ostriches and all kinds of birds, (At some point a rhino scratched on our car! Don't worry the car and the rhino are ok) then you can drive through the lion's cage where your not allowed to open the windows and you can only see the lions from rather far for safety reasons, after that you can go to the actual zoo. You roam around all kinds of animals, my favorite were the apes and the gorillas in particular. The staff is extremely nice and answered all the questions we had. There are times that the staff feeds the animals, then one of the staff will stand with a microphone and explain about the animals and answer questions from the crowed. Highly recommended for everyone who loves animals. I had a great time !!

Well laid out. Good the zoo is shady for the animals and visitors, there was a nice breeze when we visited too. The website makes it hard to purchase online to get the online discount. It kept running but not completing scripts. May work better on a laptop rather than a phone. However, the gentleman at the entrance ticket booth was very helpful. We got a train like ride through the safari to the zoo entrance which was great. However, we did not see it for the trip home. The shuttle is actually a mini bus. Beware the mini shuttle bus does not stop right at the shuttle stop where there are seats in the shade. It stops near the drink and food stores and does not check for passengers at the shuttle stop. There is also no timetable for the shuttle.

A really huge park and the best place in Ramat Gan!
This park has a large grass area to picnic on or play, No BBQ allowed except for specific holidays.
It is surrounding an artificial lake scattered with trees and banchs to relax on.
There is a ship-like building in the lake that stands empty for many years, they really should open a restaurant there..
There is a waterfall that works in the afternoon and evening that has lights on it to color the water.
There are many kinds of birds that are hanging around including ducks and even black swanes.
If you come in the evening when all the birds come to find a place for the night it looks like a movie scene.
There is a large area with trees with some interactive stations based on Noami Shemer songs which is nice for the kids.
In the park you can also find:
- A large workout area with tons of machines
- A huge playground for the kids
- Football/basketball pitch (that needs renovation)
- Cool beach like volleyball courts
- A public book stand
- A mini beach with sand and chairs
- An amphitheater with a huge screen
There is a single coffee place with long lines. They are talking about rebuilding the area with the other coffee shop to hold some more food soon.
There are several restrooms that are relatively clean.
For parking you can find 4 big parking lots around it but on nice weekends you will need to drive around to find parking in the adjacent streets.

The Ramat Gan National Park: A Green Oasis in the City
The Ramat Gan National Park is a fantastic escape from the urban bustle. This large, well-kept park offers a wide range of activities for everyone. You can go for a relaxing walk or a bike ride around the big artificial lake, which features a beautiful new waterfall.
The park is perfect for families, with playgrounds, spacious lawns for picnics, and even a "beach" area with chairs and misters to stay cool on hot days. It's also home to a variety of plants and animals, including ducks and swans. The park also has an amphitheater, a public fitness area, and a café. Whether you want a quiet afternoon or a fun day with the kids, this park is a great choice.

Probably the best park in the Central District.
This is a huge park with a lathe pond at the middle that hosts a very large amount of different animals (mostly birds). The park is extremely grooms, with it's own private crew that keeps this charming place.
You can do lots here, there's a big space for children play equipment, vast lawns for picnic, the biggest outdoor gym if you fancy some exercise and even an amazing eucalyptus trees interactive boulevard that tell the story of Israel best known composer “Nehomi Shemer” please keep this amazing place clean and don't feed the animals.

Antipatris /ænˈtɪpətrɪs/ (Hebrew: אנטיפטריס, Ancient Greek: Αντιπατρίς) was a city built during the first century BC by Herod the Great, who named it in honour of his father, Antipater. The site, now a national park in central Israel, was inhabited from the Chalcolithic Period to the late Roman Period. The remains of Antipatris are known today as Tel Afek (תל אפק), although formerly as Kŭlat Râs el 'Ain. It has been identified as either the tower of Aphek mentioned by Josephus, or the biblical Aphek, best known from the story of the Battle of Aphek. During the Crusader Period the site was known as Surdi fontes, "Silent springs". The Ottoman fortress known as Binar Bashi was built there in the 16th century.

It was such an Amazing Historical Place to Visit. Entrance Fee was a Fair Price and I was given a Map upon entry. The weather was perfect for walking around and taking pictures. To be able to Touch, Walk, See and Imagine the LIVES that were once here. Remnants of a Forgotten Time in History. I could've walked around all day. And, the View from the Castle...is SPLENDID! This Historical Place has plenty of Parking; Public Restrooms; Picnic Tables and Shaded Areas. It is Wheelchair Accessible and Family Friendly. There's even a small wading pool for the little kiddos. The City Bus Stops Outside the Entrance. This Place is a MUST See!

Entry is not free but the fee is not that high and if you have the Matmon family card (about 250 shekels yearly for a family with kids under 5) the entry is with no additional charge, the park is well kept and has plently of shade and picnic areas, very good for mountain bike trips for the whole family as the park has 2 parts connected by a dirt road for hiking or biking only. the park also has free water flowing in ita and although the bigger "lake" is not for humans to use, the kids can play in the ankle dip water that runs from where the water surface up to the "lake", very nice especially in summer
Jonathan J. KlingerJonathan J. Klinger
This is the second part of the "Yarkon Origins" reservations. It is a bigger park with a nice place to get your feet wet in the ponds (and it is permitted). The park itself has a short hiking trail (about 20-30 minutes) and a nice circular trail around the big pond (I wouldn't call it a "lake", though).
It is dog friendly; it has a small vendor with ice cream and coffee, and an old fort.
If you're looking for a half-day activity, it might be too much for you. You can finish all the things to do here in about an hour and a half.
